Having a hard time choosing between Ring and Blink

I know you said you aren't looking for alternatives, but I'd suggest you skip those brands entirely, because what you need/want can't be done with those brands if you are looking specifically for cameras, you will end up with the same issues as your sister or worse. Those 2 brands are garbage and se

Need help setting up IOT network VLAN

i've battled this exact thing with tapo cameras. the issue is usually that the tapo app uses cloud discovery and doesn't play nice with mdns across subnets. try moving the rule order so the allow from home to iot is at the top. also enable igmp snooping on both vlans. if you keep running into proble

Looking for a camera to set on the tank while away from home, looking for something with decent image quality

I have a Reolink E1 Zoom and like it. I used to have a Wyze, but Reolink has been better overall. Here's a video from the camera on my QT tank: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcCyE0Ol7Ug. The only issue is that during the day I need coral lenses (attached by a tape), but at night IR mode reflects o

Reliable Pan/Tilt camera for 2-month absence (Europe) - Focus on Android App stability & Cloud

First of all OP, you must understand that you are not getting anything reliable that's Wi-Fi. You will have issues from time to time, it doesn't matter if you have NASA internet or super Wi-Fi. You will have issues. Only with a PoE camera you wouldn't have issues, but I assume you can't do this beca

Recommendations for a Long-Duration, Low-Cost Recording Device?

several challenges here.. you're trying to resolve a behavioral issue with technology - which rarely works. your neighbor is already falsely filing noise complaints when you're not home. if your landlord doesn't accept that you've not been present for several of their complaints, trying to "convince

Good RTSP camera for my LAN Website.

UPDATE! I got Reolink E1 PRO for 39 pounds (I'm based in the UK) and it's working great. I've set up Home Assistant like some of you suggested, and integrated the camera easily. (Turned off UID, so that it all stays local)

What cameras do you use with Frigate and home assistant

Not for indoor use but I’m using the Reolink RLC-510A, the Reolink TrackMix PoE P760 (PTZ works great in Frigate), and some cheap old IPCAM cameras. I always had problems with Wi-Fi connections, so I switched back to PoE for all cameras. For indoor use you can go with the Reolink E1 Pro (around €50)
