Could someone explain Roborock models? The names are confusing.
I can give you a basic rundown, here's a rant I posted only this morning https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1qzl563/comment/o4d12j9/?context=3 The S series are the best bots. The true flagships but they don't muck around with new tech like rollers yet, for a good reason, they are basical

How often do you really deep clean vs quick tidy?
I actually had a RoboRock Q5 robot vacuum, but the cats have so many toys laying around that it would get three feet away from its base, suck up some ribbon toy laying on the floor and stop cleaning. So eventually I just got rid of it.

Dissapointed with the QRevo
Thank you both for the quick replies. I have been using my robot vaccum's since 2006 when I purchased my Roomba red models. I have been pretty happy with the 10 or so vaccums tha I have had since then. Only really upgrading when I wanted a new technology such as Lidar. mopping, and now self emptying

Help
Which Q5 models are yours? None of Roborock's Q5 series models has an ultrasonic carpet sensor, so it won't be able to avoid mopping your carpet. In Q5, you have to manually add an exclusion zone to your carpet area on the map to prevent it from being mopped. (see this subreddit post: https://www.re

Roborock's $20 'Goodwill Discount' Lost Them a Multi-Device Customer - Switched to Mova and Couldn't Be Happier
What does Roborock technical partner even mean? Sounds like your dog sitter did something shady to the robot. Come back in four years and let us know if your Mova is still working like new. It’s way too early to say it’s better in terms of reliability when it’s still new when you’re comparing it to

God-awful app or am I missing something?
It's not the app, it's the robot. The Q5, Q7 and Q10 bot's are believed to be made in a different factory than the main roborocks, so these are basically Irobots with roborock software shoved over the top. It's no wonder the app doesn't play nice with them. No clue what roborock was thinking when th

Why do robot vacuums still need so much hands-on effort? (Expectation vs. Reality)
I have 5 of Roborocks. 2 of them generally don't get lost, the other 3 pretty frequently. (3 S7 Max V Ultras, one S8 Max V Ultra, and one Q5+). I think it has to do with room and furniture geometry, as if I swap them around, the issues persist in the rooms. The typical failure mode is it will drive

Roborock's $20 'Goodwill Discount' Lost Them a Multi-Device Customer - Switched to Mova and Couldn't Be Happier
I am also a multi-roborock owner (3 s7 Max V Ultras, one S8 Max V Ultra, and one Q5+). Mine have lots of navigation issues that by now I would have expected to get better with software updates, but if anything they have become worse. Dealing with tech support is a painful exercise of providing purch

Is there any progress made?
I have several Roborocks, The S8 Max V Ultra, a few S7 Max V Ultras, and a Q5+. I see occasional updates to the app, and the occasional firmware update, but I can't recall a single update that really changed or improved things over the last couple of years. I was expecting that a lot of the mapping,

Q5 pro - objects stuck in dual roller but no error
My Q5 Pro has the same issue. I think it's just a "benefit" of the dual roller design that it doesn't realize there's something caught in it. The problem though is that it continues to vacuum and what's already in the dust bin somehow falls out. So not only does a jam cause it to not clean the floor
