Should I switch Cameras before it's too late?

As a Sony shooter, my advice is to pay close attention to those telling you that Sony is better than Canon at car photography. Note their names, and unsubscribe from their youtube channels and instagram feeds because they are full of shit and their advice is questionable. And certainly, selling an R

The m43 sensor isn't that small

Plus, depending on what you are shooting and what cameras you are looking at you can easily make up that difference with the better stabilization in many M43 cameras. Compare cheap used cameras of the same price like a Sony A6000 to a EM5mkII. You are comparing an stabilized camera to one with 5 axi

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! May 15, 2026

For astrophotography you really want to include a specialized lens in your budget as that will play a much larger role then the camera in your final results (true for most photography, but especially astro). When did you decide to make the jump to better gear? How did you afford it?

last upgrade was from a Sony a6000 to an a7r4. the lack of resolution and inability to capture my full frame glass was getting annoying. was only $1300 used do it's not like i was getting another job to cover it, just saved for a bit.

Help upgrading from TG6, considering OM1 or Sony a6700

Spend the money on better strobes for the TG6. For macro you won’t get anything better than the TG that’s still a travel friendly size. I used to have a Canon Dslr and now have a Sony A6000 in a Nuaticam housing, the TG6 wins hands down for Macro. It’s only worth going to larger sensor cameras for w

What should beginners start photography with, a DSLR or Point and Shoot / Compact Camera? And why?

I've done a quick search to check your claims. Cheapest flagship mirrorless body I could find on MPB would be an a7 for €324 in "good" condition. Cheapest viable starter lens to go with that would be an FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS, for €119. €443 for a decent full-frame kit, not bad, but I wouldn't cal
