Possibly look for a used Sony a6000 and lens or Sony RX 100 series but likely unrealistic. Your budget is not high enough to get anything better than using your phone camera.

last upgrade was from a Sony a6000 to an a7r4. the lack of resolution and inability to capture my full frame glass was getting annoying. was only $1300 used do it's not like i was getting another job to cover it, just saved for a bit.

I wouldn’t spend more than $300 on a used Sony a6000 body, look for a better deal really. You can also consider older DSLRs, they’re very affordable now and still have a good lens ecosystem.

That’s a great suggestion, I may have a look at other experiences! Have looked at the Fujifilm equivalents but unfortunately where I am right now, all Fujifilm options are more expensive than Sony! Cheapest X1 for example I can find is almost £100 more than the cheapest Sony a6000. Shame.
