Is this a good deal and good starter camera?

Honestly for $700 I would skip that and get something mirrorless. Camera gear is something I think is wise to buy used, because when it's time to upgrade, you don't lose your ass. For your purposes, especially the low light activities, I'd say grab a Sony A7 ii ($500-700ish) or A7 iii body ($700-$10

I have the money for a full frame camera for the first time since having kids. I start looking at the Z5ii and R10 and then the lenses and realize I don't want to spend almost $4,000 on a camera and lens. Does anyone also feel fine with M43 but get scared away with prices on FF?

I had a FF Sony kit and an M43 kit for the longest time. A7III for pretty much everything that wasn’t wildlife, EM1 MK3 for wildlife. On a whim, I picked up a cheap used Lumix 14-140mm mkII off of facebook and took just the Olympus with me for a trip. When I came home and went through my pics, I dum

iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Sony A7III

Posted some travel photos recently here from Japan and South Korea and got some comments doubting they were shot on iPhone 😅 So thought it would be interesting to do a quick comparison. Tried to find the most similar shots I had across both my iPhone 15 Pro Max and Sony A7III with matching editing.

Are you all Professional Photographers or is the GRIII really that good?

Doesn’t matter what camera it is, it’s about light and composition. I absolutely love my GRIII and GRIIIx but that’s mainly just cause it’s a crop sensor camera in the smallest package I can imagine. I definitely have pics from it that are way better than some pics I’ve taken with my Sony A7III and

New vs old sensor - best colours

Sensors pretty much plateaued around 2012-2015. Sensor technology is constantly improving. It's just that the big sensor used in "real" cameras only have gotten limited benefits from it. Mobile phone sensors are in many ways much more advanced as being smaller finer manufacturing geometries can be u

Twenty One Pilots in Indianapolis!

Of course! Yes, I had media credentials but there was no pit so these were all shot from the crowd. I used a Sony A7III with a Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM! It was perfect

Ouch there definitely is some people who dont like m43😅

On the topic of "Value for the money is not a reason anymore to get into m43": totally agree. My first camera was the Nikon D5300 DSLR (aps-c). Kit lens sucked, so I quickly added the Nikon 35mm F/1.8.This setup cost me in total €725 back in 2016. As a student, this was a huge purchase. However, the

Selling the A7CII for a Fuji ie X-E5. Anyone else made a similar jump?

I made a similar switch from a7iii with 35mm GM to x100vi, but i didn’t like it because i missed that full-frame crispness. So, i sold the x100vi and switched to lumix S9 to get back to full frame but with customizable LUTs that are similar to fuji. But after using it for a few months, i realized th

ITAP of the road leading into El Chaltén, Patagonia

Shot this while zooming down Ruta 41 at about 120 km/h, fully manual focus. Somehow managed to frame the road perfectly as Fitz Roy finally showed itself from the clouds. Gear & settings:• Sony A7III• Tamron 35–150mm (shot at 110mm)• Manual focus• 6000×4000 resolution• f/11• 1/320s Pretty happy with
