Q990F vs Sony A3000

Sony HT-A3000 is just a 3.1 Soundbar, don't waste your money on that.

How come my Sony HT-A5000 is better than anything Sony has released since then?

Funny. I just got a Sony hta5000 new in box for $200 shipped from eBay. Great sound. Friends are amazed. Best Buy wants $479 for ht a3000.

Thinking of adding a soundbar to my BRAVIA 9—how do Sony’s models actually sound?

Sony soundbars match well with Bravia TVs not just because of the sound but also their menu integration that is added to your tv quick menu for easy changes. What to get will depends on your budget. Just the Bar alone with a somewhat all in one that you can upgrade later, I would say Sony HT-A5000 t...

What's your experience?

I recently got the 55” Sony Bravia 8. The sound quality of the TV by itself is pretty good, especially compared to other flat panel screens. I’m impressed. I have it paired with a Sony HT-A3000 Soundbar that I’m very happy with. I live in a comparably sized room as you, and it suits my needs perfect...

What's your experience?

Sonos is a good brand. I’ve heard good things about them. I went with the Sony HT-A3000 because I got a good deal as part of a bundle with the Bravia 8. If you can, I recommend going to listen to it in a store where it’s displayed, so you can see how you like it.

Why aren't people talking about the Yamaha SR-B30A/SR-B40A soundbars more? They both seem to be great value soundbars.

Can’t comment on Yamaha, but I just setup an HT-A3000 last night. I got it for $280 (sealed, new) on eBay. It’s paired with a 55” X90J Bravia. The room is very large with vaulted ceilings. Better than TV’s built in speakers? Yes. Is it a major difference? Meh. I did an A/B with a 10 year old Bose Ai...

Sony Core DTS-X

I have the X90L paired with the HT-A3000, along with the SW3 and RS3. Movies with DTS sound loud, majestic, and have good virtual surround effects. I’ve also turned on 360 Spatial Surround Mapping. Atmos tends to sound a little quieter compared to DTS:X, but I did notice subtle effects from the rear...

Help me choose a soundbar between Q990D, JBL Bar 800, and HT-A3000

I've no experience of the other two, but I would advise against the Sony HT-A3000. I had one and never liked the sound. Voices sound harsh and 'brassy', like there's too much middle EQ on the centre speaker. Bass is there, but with only Min, Mid and Max adjustment, I found Mid was lacking but Max wa...

Q990F vs Sony A3000

The Sony ht-a3000 is like 100 bucks. How are you getting the 990F for that? The 990F will be much better

Help! Can't decide.

Since you're using a sony, you can definitely try the Sony HT-Z9F which is pretty good, perhaps little bit more expensive. Another better option is the HT-A3000, which is a significant step up, a good atmos and sound bar experience, yet costlier. Or your best option and one of the best systems out t...
