Have you bought a 3D printer for FPV?
I resisted for many years, I only got one this winter. I would definitely say it's worth it, I've had loads of fun making useful prints whenever I want to, or even designing my own. As for which printer to pick, I think it mostly just boils down to what you want from it. If you only want it as a too

Eli5: why would someone buy an sv07 instead of an sv06 ace?
SV07 is far easier to mod/upgrade as it uses standard, off-the-shelf parts for the frame. Whilst yes the Sovol SV06 ACE is "open source" and the hardware specs are all published on github with schematics, some parts - particularly the X and Y rails - use SG15 wheels on custom-fabricated rails (6mm s

Best printer for cosplay?
For cosplay you'll probably need a bit more space. I might recommend a sovol sv08 or sv06 plus ace. I have an artillery sidewinder x4 plus s1 that is an absolute beast for only like $230 but it does require a bit of understanding of what's going on and probably isn't the best beginner printer

Sv06 plus ace creations
You’ll notice that almost everything I printed here is with Sunlu PLA, which I honestly think is amazing. To give you an example: I printed a pink bird feeder in PLA and put it outside on my balcony in full sun all day in May (I live in the countryside in Italy, where it gets insanely hot — like 40°

I learned something tonight…
Just cranking up "print speed" with the knob doesn't get the job done. First you have to calibrate max flowrate (there a tab for it in orca, also pls read the tutorial on this: https://www.obico.io/blog/maximum-volumetric-speed-test-in-orcaslicer-a-comprehensive-guide/) Next you (most definetly) hav

Is AnkerMake not selling 3D printers anymore?
There was a lawsuit with another company, I think slice engineering maybe. Also I'm pretty sure they were getting their asses kicked in the market by other cheap machines like the sovol sv06 ace, Bambu A1, and the new non-garbage ender3s

I want to start in 3D printing, what is the sovol brand like?
Sovol makes good stuff. I'd stick to the most recent models, though, like the SV06 Ace and Sv07 Plus.

Advice on deciding between Sovol SV07 vs Bambu A1 Mini for a first 3D printer?!
sovol is a great choice for ppl that love open source, but dont get him the SV07 as its an older model, the SV06 ACE is better in any way and still under $250. also take a look at the elegoo centauri carbon, its an enclosed machine and absolutely the best $300 printer you can get. the only problem w

Next Chapter coming soon...
You're right, I was looking at the Kobra X few weeks ago to swap - wanting a larger print plate and more colour (I have the sv06 ace), and due to circumstances, someone is giving me another ace, with filament dryer, and several filaments, all unopened later this week Guess I'm staying with sovol for

Does building a Voron make sense in 2026
Really depends on what your goal is. They do make sense to build. They make LESS sense as a first printer. Given they are made of printed parts... usually the first step is using your existing printer, to build your voron. The Trident IS the correct printer. 300 IS a good decision. Print quality is
