If you want to try having the machine in/near your lap, then look into lap boards/desks built for office chairs. They simply rest on the arms but this lets you look at the $100-200 range of office chairs. I like the Staples Hyken.

I bought the staples hyken for like 120$ and I've had it for like 5 years. It's overall pretty durable and comfy aside from the cushion at the front that's kinda messed up.

When buying used, remember that people often repair them with knockoff parts to quickly resell them. Theres a huge aftermarket of cheap parts that are lower quality. I’d recommend going to an office supply store to tryout a couple different brands. You can at least see if some are a complete no go.
