Disappointed!

Do not use your coffee pot to refill the water reservoir for any coffee maker. Coffee is hydrophobic and despite looking clean that coffee pot likely has coffee oils on it. Perhaps you do a deep cleaning every time, but adding coffee oil to the internals of a coffee machine isn't a great idea. Despi

To those who went to World of Coffee 2026 in San Diego — what stood out?

Some observations: I do not know how to cover 4 American football fields of booths in 3 days. I could do it in 5 days. Spending longer than 7-12 minutes at any one booth/company is a major commitment of time in this context. Lance was there. Doug was there. Weber booth was very customer focused and

Is there an easier way to brew with the Moccamaster?

It’s no different than any other drip coffee maker with regard to process. It just happens to be popular with coffee drinkers that enjoy complicating things. You can use it just like you did your cheap coffee maker before the keurig or the Bunn. The Bunn HB will make just as good coffee, if you had

Lucie, I can assure you that no one cares

I will say this is a dumb dumb post but this carafe actually belongs to a somewhat fancy coffee maker. It’s a Moccamaster, which brews somewhat similar to pour over coffee compared to your average Mr. Coffee. But I’m still a hater. If you’re gonna drink iced coffee, get a cold brew maker.

Average Nordic household starter pack

Moccamaster is engineers coffee maker. It makes it exactly to spec, just to still fail.

Drip coffee maker suggestions

Breville Luxe. Solid build. Reliable. Makes great coffee and brewing parameters can be changed. My personal opinion: avoid Moccamaster coffee makers. They are expensive and have a lot of flimsy cheap plastic parts. Brew parameters are also fixed.

What makes the Technivorm Moccamaster so good ? Is it really that good ?

First off: I understand it is a good coffee maker. The question the OP is really asking though is is it good enough to justify the premium I think at this point it may be trading on its name a little. There are a fair number consistent temp, shower head / multi-hole style drip, reliable, SCA certifi

Just Watched The Plastic Detox… How Do You Avoid Plastic?

My advice is pick one aspect at a time and tackle that... trying to do everything at once will drive you crazy. Then repeat. Honestly, I think if you are really serious about avoiding plastics and toxins of all sorts, consider going whole food plant based. Not necessarily total vegan, but dramatical

Beware well water users...

He's got a water softening system. He's choosing to use well water to make coffee and he's destroyed on average, 1 Moccamaster per year through abuse and questionable maintenance for the past 4 years. And he alleges the manufacturer has poor build quality. I knew Technivorm had great customer servic

Is upgrading to a Moccamaster actually worth it if I’m fine with my cheap drip machine?

I think if I'm honest with myself, I can't find a huge difference between drip coffee makers. These forums are filled with people willing to spend way more than me, on coffee stuff. Yes pour over can be better if you do it right, just take lots of practice. Espresso is great if your willing to exper
