Wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal?

Best drip coffee makers for home with no bells and whistles?
I'll be the first to say the usual answer of Technivorm Moccamaster. Literally only 2 switches, on/off and half/full brew. I really like mine, they're hand made, it's built like a tank and you get a lifelong warranty.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie?
The Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker. I got tired of buying a new lesser one every year. I’m going on 10 years with mine and it’s still going strong.

New Technivorm KBGV (Butter Yellow) Arriving Tomorrow - What do I need to know?
Sometimes I think there is too much hype with a Moccamaster. I love my KBT! But at the end of the day, it's simply a very well made drip coffee maker.

KBTS or KGBV Select
Im a big fan of the stainless carafe vs. the glass pot. I didn't want the carafe at first, but Nordstrom sold a handful of KBT's for $195.00 one day a couple of years ago, and I had to do it. Its the best happy accident ive ever made. The benefit of the stainless carafe is twofold for me: you can ta

This is the shower head that everyone was raving about?
I have never ever heard a single person rave about the shower head. If anything, it's the part people complain about the most. Quality control and customer service are above average, and the replaceable plastic parts are a well known aspect of Moccamasters. It seems like every time there's a sale, a

Interior of thermal carafe shattered 1.5 years in - I clean it normally I think!
Hey, Just popping in to answer with what I know. I've got a similar machine, a KBT Its a silvered glass lined thermal flask. The glass prevents any off flavors from developing compared to a stainless steel vacuum flask. That's good! Glass is a very hard material that does not have any issues with le

Used Moccamaster, ok?
I’ve never seen a counterfeit Moccamaster, so that’s unlikely. I’d frankly ask if they would make you a cup of coffee and just test that it works. The upside is they can be shipped to Moccamaster US to be repaired if it has issues. I’ve bought one KBGV and my KM5 grinder new. Picked up a Cup One, a

New Grinder for my MoccaMaster
I have a Fellow Ode Gen 2 and a Moccamaster KBT, it’s an excellent combo. As far as a scale, I’ve always used a simple kitchen scale and it gets close enough for me. I don’t recommend the upgraded burrs, those are mostly to attempt to get the Ode down to espresso levels, which you don’t need. James

Brew time - when does it end?
Moccamaster says that the KBT will brew a full carafe of coffee in 4-6 minutes and that has been my experience. I don't stir - I tried it when I first got the machine but it eventually seemed too fussy and unreliable to me. I tend to get better results when I just let it do its thing.
