Well, my SN850 has a clock speed of 1 GHz at least. I'd be giving up a ludicrous amount of performance if I were to clock my CPU, GPU, and RAM at 1 GHz.

Wtf are you rambling on about. External hard drives are that, hard drives. Pretty much anything from 2016 and older are hdd's, not ssd's. Mine is a WD Passport X with a USB 3.0 interface and I can literally hear it spinning up. It's 100% a mechanical drive. And it's plenty fast for MakeMKV and rippi
