Nice small damn e-reader to read your faves when waiting in line.

Xteink X4. It's taking the e-reader community by storm, albeit a small storm, maybe just a gust. The original firmware is okay, but the community firmware is a lot better, it's called Crosspoint.

X4 Converter Update - Multi-file support, Arabic, Hyphenation & more

I hope the XTeink team has reached out to you, because your converter is genuinely game changing for their efforts to break into the international market. They would do well to recognize it and support development of this tool. (If they’re reading this: you should send this person an X3 to help them

Just got the XTEINK X4

You can read it quite comfortably. The built-in font actually supports multiple size options, so you can increase the text size without doing anything extra. In my case, I generated my own custom font because I prefer the same font I use on my Kindle Paperwhite. With my custom parameters — 34 pt, 45

Sure, here's the github link. GitHub - daveallie/crosspoint-reader: Firmware for the Xteink X4 e-paper display reader. The developer is releasing almost daily updates. and flashing takes hardly 8-9 seconds.

Companion eReader?

I recommend Pocketbook (Era). Similar to the Xteink X4, it can be run completely without a shop integration out of the box, and it has built-in Dropbox support if you don't want to use the vendorʼs cloud. But also can use the Pocketbook shop and cloud service. You can install alternative reader soft

New to eReaders, considering Xteink X4 – have a few questions

Welcome to the world of eReaders! It’s a bit of a rabbit hole, but a great one. To give you some context, I’ve been building a community hub for Xteink users (inspired by the 'slow tech' and community vibes of places like readme.club), so here’s the breakdown based on what we’ve gathered so far: 1.

New to eReaders, considering Xteink X4 – have a few questions

As an avid eReader fan, I love my X4... but i really don't suggest it as someone's first eReader unless they're also into other niche subgroups (like sbc gaming) cause... yeah. The X4 does not really come woth books (mine had i think 2 preloaded epubs both of which have issues because of the X4's OS

Questions before I buy

Can you read books on the X4 via Onleihe (the German system for library books)? If you mean your local library's ebook lending system (German or otherwise), the answer's almost certainly NO. For that to happen, someone who knows the inner workings of the library system needs to write custom firmware

Which eReader

The FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH and Piracy subs have megathreads where you can find websites to get ebooks from. I suggest you check those out. From what I've seen, colored e-readers aren't recommended since they have a poorer tech quality. Complaints of text being less sharp and more blurry compared to non c

New eReader

"Break the bank" is Hella subjective lol. Hard to know what to suggest without knowing more info (preferred size, spending limit, other needs, color or bw only, etc) but p much any ereaders will allow you to add books from your computer. The cheapest option is to huy second hand. If you're in the US
