Is it worth it to upgrade from the pro controller 1 to the pro controller 2 with my switch 2?
Because OG pro controller doesn’t support Bluetooth low energy protocol. 8Bitdo Pro 3 have newer bluetooth chipset.

Into the Pro 3 boat now :D
This thing is amazing. The micro switches, charging dock, wake to shake function (working on sw2!). The only thing I am not used to, but I think will get better with time, is the back pedals, I accidentally press them.

Steam Controller: The Ars Technica review | Valve’s new hardware is solid but might not justify its $99 price.
Comparing it with the 8bitdo Pro 3, the Steam Controller does not sound like a good value. The 8bitdo Pro 3 is like $58 all the time on Amazon but $50 or less with discounts on AliExpress. Things it has over the Steam Controller: Easily swappable buttons A little lever that turns the analog triggers

Question about mapping extra buttons for 8bitdo controller
There are 2 or 3 controllers with very similar names. All of them can use on-board features to manage the extra buttons, but some can also access Steam Input, so you can remap the extra buttons to any keyboard button too. This controller, the Ultimate C2 (which is a variant of the Ultimate 2 Bluetoo

Recommendation for kids?
8bitdo has pretty affordable controllers. the ultimate 2c bluetooth controllers work pretty well, aren't that expensive, and feel comfortable (though they might be too big for kids' hands? not sure). they also have more expensive and full featured controllers like the pro3, but if you're getting one

Why are my controllers doing this?? Switch
Stick drift unfortunately. I’d recommend getting a 3rd party controller with Hall effect or TMR joy sticks since those are a lot less susceptible to getting drift. I personally use an 8bitdo pro 3 it has TMR sticks (better than Hall effect) it comes with a charging dock swappable face buttons and a

Here's hoping for a Pro 3 3-mode for XBOX
But isn't the Pro 3 already 3-mode? It has 2.4ghz wifi, bluetooth, and is also capable wired. You can swap the buttons as well for Xbox layout or Switch layout. It has D-input, X-input, and S-input. IMO it's more Ultimate than the actual Ultimate line.

I'm thinking of buying a dualsense to play on linux, would you recomens it?
No, DualSense are known to start drifting which (to me) is unacceptable at this price point. I would suggest an 8bitdo with hall sensor or TMR joysticks (e.g. the Pro2 or the Pro3). They also work perfectly on Linux, both wired and via Bluetooth.Only downside is that they do not come with Playstatio

8Bitdo Ultimate 3E available for pre-orders starting May 26th, release in August for $150.
And if it's anything like the recent 8bitdo pro 3 with the dongle, it connects way faster than a regular Xbox controller.

Any 8bitdo ultimates like the pro 3?
Their lineup is incredibly complex and confusing. Everything has the same name but with different compatibilities. The wireless ones often have Bluetooth, and the Bluetooth ones also have 2.4Ghz, but they are locked to different protocols. It’s like nobody at 8bitdo is aware what other people are do
