T rex 3 pro can be purchased for about £350 which is good value....the latest amazfit ultra however is too expensive. I wouldn't even say it offers anything much extra.

Long time Garmin user here, Fenix 8 now. I got an T-Rex 3 pro a few weeks ago to test it. I was very surprised by how good it was. I made a list of my own (subjective) pros and cons. Back then, Amazfit was nowhere in the position to make longer software support. It wasn't as well known and it didn't make as much profit as it is currently doing. Right now, they feel comfortable enough to provide 3 years of updates for the latest watches, as they seem to invest more in their teams
