I've cancelled Amazon Prime
I did too. I was very deep in their hands and now feel very guilty about the amount of Amazon things I own (echo dots, Amazon tv, kindle) but I’ve cancelled all my subscriptions with them. I plan on just continuing using the stuff I already own without subscribing to any of their services, but the g

What has gradually disappeared over the last ten years without people really noticing?
I hate how everything is turning into a billboard now, too. Oh, you’ve owned your tv for two years now? Well we just ran an update to show you commercials during the “screensaver” mode. Want no ads? Well you need to pay more for that. Loud AF video ads on gas pumps. Ads on apps that you’ve used for

IT-Sicherheit?

Powering AI with IOT
I've integrated various IoT devices in my workspace—like lights, fans, AC, and a vacuum robot—all controlled via voice commands with an Amazon Echo. In my new room, I’ve set up an Echo Dot 5th Gen with an ultrasonic motion detector that’s supposed to sense when people are present. However, I still w

Worried about Alexa org
It's not that, the reason why people don't use it in a way that makes Amazon money is because the form factor and interface isn't good. It was flawed from the beginning. Nobody wants to buy products or make transactions over voice. Visual interfaces exist and won for a reason, because you can fit th

Logitech POP Smart Buttons: End of Life as of October 15th, 2025
The bigger lesson is even just not by any products that will be rendered useless if the company decides to shut a computer or VM off or goes bankrupt. I mean I still use my LG V60 every day The fact that LG Mobile doesn't exist does not really impact me at all outside of not being able to get custom

Is a move to HomeKit from Alexa a viable (if expensive) option?
I am currently in the process of exactly this. I have a myriad of Alexa devices (3rd/4th/5th gen echo dots, Echo show 5, Fire stick) in every room and I absolutely hate the ads and them trying to push products and other things on me. Alexa+ has been nothing but a disappointment and I feel it has slo

Switched from Google Home to Alexa—Now Can't Add to Homey. Any Ideas?
I recently made the switch from Google Home to Alexa and upgraded to the latest Echo devices (Echo Pop, Echo Dot 5th Gen, and Echo Show 8 3rd Gen). While Alexa is working well on its own, I’m having trouble integrating these devices into my Homey Pro. It seems they aren't showing up as compatible, a

How to use echo dot (5th gen) temperature sensor on ecobee?
Seems redundant to have an ecobee sensor in the same room as echos that have thermometers. Isn't there a way to use the sensor for ecobee?

Google Nest thermostat says it's 82F in my inside so the heat won't turn on. I'm in a poorly insulated Baltimore apartment. It's not 82F and my Alexa's say it's 62F. I reset the device but don't know what to do. It's getting cold.
No. There are three Echo Dot 5th Gen's and Echo 4th Gens around the apartment all reading 54-60F. Thermostat is set to 90F and reading 85F but intermittently getting unheated air coming out the vents, cutting out before it thinks it's reached 90F. My feet are numb so I'm pretty sure the nest is wron
