Sette 270

I just received this last night Build quality definitely looks sturdy, design wise yes it might cause a divisive opinion Several things that stand out is how quiet it is, I had Baratza Sette 270 and the noise difference is night and day

I have a baratza sette 270. I wouldn't exactly recommend it - it is very noisy and the macro and micro settings have drifted since day one.

Be patient, making great espresso is not easy. You need a combination of good beans, grinder, water, machine and technique. It's fun if you like the hobby though! Get the best grinder you can afford. My trusty Baratza Sette 270 may be loud af, but 5 years of heavy daily use and has yet needed any parts replaced or any cleaning beyond blue bean pills once a month.

I also have an obnoxiously loud bean disposal (Sette 270) but have thankfully not encountered this issue yet. It sucks that you're outside of 1 year warranty, I'd still see if Baratza will replace it? Since the gearbox / motor fix didn't work. They may do you a solid and send you a new unit. If you end up upgrading, what're you wanting to spend and get out of your machine? Mostly milk drinks or mostly strai
