Best headphones to listen to Opeth

This is gonna be a wall of text so I apologize. I own a lot of different headphones, ranging from cheap to very expensive. But I can tell you that this is an extremely subjective thing. On top of that, it depends how much you want to spend. I would say the best thing is to find an audio shop where y

DJ TIPS

What Headphones do you use?

Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X and a UA VOLT audio interface. Works well for gaming, never had any issues. Closed back would be my requirement for gaming and it’s good to have a bump to low frequencies for games where you’re listening for quiet footsteps and whatnot. Can’t complain

DT 770 Pro X or DT 700 Pro X

The headband thing on the 700 was a design defect that Beyerdynamic found and fixed after about a year of selling the headphones. They haven't fixed anything. Even the new version doesn't last much longer. I'm already on my third replacement headband for my three year old DT900 Pro X.

Thoughts on open and closed back headphones

I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT700 Pro X (closed) and a pair of Avatone Planar the ii’s (open) I use both in mixing situations. But if I were put to it I wouldn’t use opens for tracking…they would bleed into your mic much more than closed back if doing vocals.

Best DJ headphones for mixing at home (club feel, not studio flat)?

Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X are great open back headphones. Or the DT 700 Pro X if you want closed back. Low impedance and a reasonable price. I have HD25 and the DT900 and if I was mixing in headphones the DT900 are better.
