What next after M50?
Your frustration with Canon discontinuing the M series is understandable, especially considering the excellent balance of quality and portability it offered. The M6 Mark II would indeed be an upgrade for your 4K video needs, but since it’s hard to find, you’re at a crossroads where future-proofing b

Why is Canon R50V cheaper than R50?
the r50v is more advanced in terms of video features because it was released 2 after the r50 and in that time some big advancements happened in the industry, being newer also makes the price drop if the hardware was the same. which its not, the r50 has an evf and a built in flash so it makes sense.

Beginner filmmaker looking for an affordable camera for short films + photograph
honestly don’t overthink the “cinematic camera” part too early because lighting, framing, and editing matter way more than beginners expect. even older budget cameras can look incredible if you learn composition properly something like a Sony ZV-E10, used Sony a6400, Canon R50, or even a Panasonic G

Cameras for action figure photography
I've personally been eyeing the Canon R50 V. Supposedly, it was made for content creators to make it easier to upload for social media. It's main gimmick is to be able to shoot in vertical mode. Hence the V in the name. I know it's a cheap gimmick, lol. You can just manually rotate the videos yourse

Is it worth going with the EOS R50 over the EOS R100?
It depends on what you want to do, how much you might spend in the future, and if you are okay with buying used: The a6100 is a very similar camera to the R50 - both of them have a plastic body, good autofocus, decent video, and very similar image quality. The design of the body is different of cour

Canon R50 with a lens adapter could be a good choice. A little smaller than the camera you have, excellent autofocus compared to what you have (keep it set to AF Servo to track motion, which you can also do on your current camera), and it has an electronic shutter that is silent. However, the electr

Is it "weird" to go solo on an Alaskan cruise as a married man?
Canon R50. Very light compared to DSLR. Also have an older Canon 80D which is older good semi pro camera but it just became a pain to drag around. With the R50 I can just throw on a smaller zoom lens and be good for the day. Camera stats Canon EOS R50 • 24.2 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor • DIGIC X d

Canon r50 or r50v (go for r50v since video/content creation is the present and future)

Looking to upgrade from Nikon D3400 (New to photography!)
The D3400 is still solid. If you really want 4K 60fps, look at the Sony ZV E10 or Canon R50. Both give you similar image quality

AF with EF - EOS M Adapter and Sigma lens
I love the M50. I wish that the R50 had been the M50 Mark 3, with the EF-M mount. But Canon killed the EF-M mount, and M50s are still very expensive on the used market compared to refurbished Canon R50s. M50s are in the 350-450 USD range on FleaBay, while a refurbished R50 is 539 USD from Canon. Wit
