What is a brand that used to be the 'Gold Standard' of quality but is now absolute garbage?

The Dell XPS13 was the best implementation of the "small light but not shit" laptop. Always interesting to see what uni students buy: it's their own money, they want to take it everywhere, and they want four years service with no drama. XPS13 was the #1 choice. Now it's MacBook Air M-series.

Spoiled by XPS, how is the FW 13?

I've had several XPS 13's and an XPS 17. Love them, but my Framework 13 takes the cake and gets the most usage. The new XPS 13's have really frustrating design (e.g. Where does the trackpad begin and end? WTF did Dell do to the function keys???) XPS Pluses Very vibrant IPS screens (I always prefer t

Very disappointed with Tuxedo. Lost me as a client.

I have an XPS 13, which is almost the same age, same form factor and a few hundred euros cheaper. It has 16GB of RAM instead of 64, and a consumer-grade Intel CPU. Now, the Speedometer 3.0 results are ~30% higher, real battery life is the same as IBP, sound and mic are both decent, the webcam doesn’

Why do people generally buy Carbon X1 when they are so ridiculously expensive?

I bought my X1 Carbon Gen 10 in 2023 not because it's the fastest. I travel a lot usually backpacking for months at a time and weight is a very important consideration. It's also sturdy and well built. Good battery life on Linux. At the time my top contenders were X1 or Dell XPS 13. Having Linux ins

Considering Minibook X N150 as a portable Linux machine

Super portability. XPS 13 is a good size, but still a bit large on an Airplane tray when I'm traveling (barely fits).

Buying a ThinkPad X1 Gen13/14 just for a summer internship. Debating on whether to get a Dell XPS instead. I've been a loyal MacBook user since my first ever keystroke.

Dell XPS laptops tend to be hit or miss. If you're looking at a new one, be sure to test out the keyboard first or be prepared to return it. The keyboard is wacky. (I am looking forward to seeing what the Dell XPS 13 2026 model ends up being. It's supposed to be lighter, cheaper, and not use the sam

Is this a good deal?

honestly if you like the form factor that's huge - you're the one carrying it every day. the xps 13 has better build quality and keyboard than the zenbook anyway. 16gb ram is fine for normal use and $699 for open box is decent. i've seen people pay more for worse specs just because of the xps name.

Laptop suggestion !!!!!

For your budget, I'd suggest checking out the MacBook Air M2 or a Dell XPS 13. Both are great for programming and general engineering tasks. The MacBook Air has excellent performance and battery life with the M2 chip, plus it's lightweight. If you're set on Windows, the Dell XPS 13 has a great displ

what year and spec xps is the best value right now?

If you want to keep the 13 inch form factor, then the current XPS 13 9350 is great. Excellent battery on par with MacBooks, exceeding it in many cases as well as basically no heat or fan noise. It’s nothing like the older XPS laptops
