Don't use those terrible paper sleeves, and get a audio technica LP60 with some edifier R1280DB. I haven't used the edifiers personally but I think it's a good starting point

Agree with this, did this years ago and gone through a few iterations. Only thing I would look out for is get them with optical input. I get the audio signal from the headphone output of my TV to rca input on the speaker. Opens up possibility of interference and sound pops when the TV turns on. Edif
