Help with NBN Switch/Melbourne

Your son who games will not be happy with WiFi, he'll need to be connected by Ethernet to be happy. I'd suggest Leaptel an eero 6+ 2 pack and a cheap 1 gbps ethernet switch. Ethernet switch will most likely cheaper bought online along with some short ethernet cables. Connect Eero 6+ into NBN NTU wit

Eero wifi 7

Can't speak to the eero 7 models but have been using the 6+ routers for a year and a half and they work great.

What Wi-fi 6 Router for home is the best value you've used?

I’ve had no issues with my eero 6+ units. They are wired backhaul. All HomeKit and matter devices work flawlessly. Even the ones that are at the edge of the WiFi bubble.

Altafiber Gateway Upgrade

For what it's worth, I have the Eero 6+, have had it for almost 4 years and have had no problems whatsoever with it.

Looking for opinions.

KISS... Thats' the best approach to be honest. Used to manage an avg 15K daily devices on wifi network at an EDU with Aruba gear. For years I was doing DD-WRT, then OpenWRT and Aruba instant gear. One day so a good sale at Costco for a 4pack of Eero 6. Switched and now leave work at work. Again, KIS

Cox fiber install, should I buy a new router?

There are a lot of other variables here- how big is your house? multiple stories? old brick construction? do you have a lot of smart home devices, or need lots of connection bandwidth b/c you work from home? I've been happy with my Deco XE75 Pro mesh system, but it isn't super customizable. Eero 6+

Good router choices?

No issues with eero for the past few years. Currently using an eero 6+ connected to the NTD, and then one in my room connected via Ethernet to my PC.

Personal Router

This won’t work for your smart home accessories though, the reshalls network has peer to peer connections disabled for security. This means that none of the devices on the network are able to talk to each other, so your HomePod wont be able to connect to other accessories over WiFi through the home

Please recommend modem for when FTTP arrives soon

I run 2x Eero and I love it. Super simple to set up too. Consistent 500-550Mbps upstairs and downstairs, if you are at the very end of the house (through a brick wall) it drops to about ~250-300Mbps. Edit- both are wired, and I have the 6+ version.

Outdoor Wifi?

I've half an acre, and my Eero 6+ mesh hits outside pretty well. I've one on each side of the house. Very occasionally it may hit the tiniest extreme blackspot, but I'd say 99% of the garden is covered.
