Help with speaker setup with Nakamichi IA-3s amplifier

The amp is 40wpc into 8Ohms, it’s not rated for 4Ohm speakers and I’d not expect it to drive “difficult” 8Ohm speakers well, for example Kefs. Have a look around the second hand market. New, I consider the Elac DBR62 to be great for detail and clarity, but not very strong bass. The Elac DB63 are als

2.1 Wohnzimmer Party Setup

Oh, why not just get a suitable shelf? ;) If you really want to place these speakers on a shelf right up against the wall, I might go for the ELAC DB63 (EAC)? They’re certainly not quite as sensitive as the speakers mentioned earlier, but with 87dB/W/m they’re still capable of delivering the require

What speakers with my setup?

I’d recommend the DBR62 (I have a pair) over the DB63, especially if cheaper (and don’t touch the DB62). These are crisp, detailed, neutral speakers so you’ll be missing the hard heavy bass until you add a decent subwoofer. Alternatives include Wharfedales eg Diamond 12.2, and Monitor Audio Bronze 1

Active speakers like Klipsch the fives or passive speaker setup for turntable use?

I have The Fives connected to my TV / HTPC / Wiim Mini in the living room with an SVS SB1000Pro sub and really enjoy the system, The Fives have pretty weak bass performance without a subwoofer the Wiim Amp Ultra with ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63 would be great also with pretty good bass without a subwoofer w

KALI IN8 V2 good for music listening and production later on? My last option

Yeah mate i've tried the switches. I wasn't going to keep these anyway as they are in white and more expensive from the site i ordered from. I wanted them in black but because of the long stock delay it was quicker to test the white ones out. I just set my Elac DB63's back up. (The ones i wanted to

Bookshelf speakers for vinyl listening?

For vinyl, I use ELAC Debut DB63 through an Emotiva TA1. No subwoofer. I’ve found that combination to be quite good to my ear. Ample bass and that combo covers up some of the sins that my main streaming/digital system expose.

Help! My $700 ELAC Db53/WiiM Amp setup sounds WORSE than my $200 Edifier speakers. What piece of gear is lying to me?

ELAC DB53 + WIIM amp ultra + WIIM sub pro Really happy with mine. I looked at getting the Elac DB63 for the added low end. Then I decided to buy the WIIM sub pro and get the baby DB53's. On their own, without the subwoofer, they are amazing, incredible bass for their size, which I didn't expect. I l

System improvement options

C New speakers, eg Elac DBR62 or DB63, although what you gain in detail may be outweighed by less bass, so you may need to add a subwoofer. BKElec make some great value subs. D A CD player / transport with digital out, plus DAC.
