360 cameras for filming slots

I’ve been recording my canyoning trips for a few years and used GoPro, DJI and insta360. I honestly done care about brands, I just want the best tool for the job. Firstly with 360 cams vs traditional action cams. 360s are great for canyoning, they capture everything and you don’t have to worry about

First time getting coal rolled

I currently use an Insta360 X5 on my helmet with a GoPro Hero 4 session under my saddle. If you can only afford one camera, the helmet is the best setup. It provides the highest chance of getting the motorist's face, which is needed in the US for police to do anything. While not everyone can afford

DJI Osmo 360 Vs Insta360 X5 !!! (Leak)

The day footage looks MUCH better on the X5, especially the grass and gravel. The night footage is debatable. The lighting seemed mora natural on the Osmo but it's hard to tell when we don't know how the actual place looks. Too bad he didn't compare the photo quality which I'm the most interested in

Actions cams for snorkeling

So it honestly depends on your budget and how serious you are about the quality. Personally I would stay away from GoPro because they fell behind. I would recommend you the DJI 6 or AcePro 2. Both are awesome and have some pros and cons, just watch a review of both and then decide which one you pref

Would you use your insta360 5X over a DJI pocket 5 for day time vlogging?

I had the same dilemma and ended up leaning toward the Insta360, purely for the creative freedom in post. I took the X5 out for its first proper test yesterday and really enjoyed shooting with it. The biggest win for me was comparing it with the Pocket 3: with the Pocket I’d have to physically turn

[MEGATHREAD] Insta360 → iPhone export timestamp bug: years-old, officially acknowledged, still not fixed. Let’s consolidate here.

OP here — figured I’d kick this off with my own case, since I’m literally in the middle of it right now. X5 since July 2025. Last week we took the kids on a 5-day family vacation. Got back home, processed the 360 footage, ended up with 200+ clips I now have to weave into a single edit alongside the

Do you guys prefer fixed angle footage or 360 cams for motorcycle rides?

I have an Insta360 X5 and I'm contemplating swapping it for something like an Ace Pro or DJI Osmo Action 5. 360 footage is such a bore to edit. And when I mount it onto my helmet (with an L mount and chin mount) it's just so heavy and unwieldy.

Query on OSMO 360

I just bought an Osmo 360. It’s totally worth it for your use case. But you should also consider the Insta360 X4 or X5. The Osmo has a bigger sensor but needs some time to catch up on sortware, stitching and the lens can only be replaced by authorized service centrea. But they know camera tech and w

X3 vs X5 image quality

From my experience (X3 -> X5) the X5 is much better (higher resolution and the colors really pop). But after the DJI osmo 360 I don’t know if I would purchase it again - the clarity and “AI-ness” of the insta360 is too prominent, and not really lifelike. It comes to style preference though! If you’r

Ever since the X5 dropped, competitors have been flooding in...

Well you will find out soon. Rumor is end of July / August will bring both the DJI and GoPro entrants. Neither seem to have replaceable lens like the X5, but both seem rumored to have slightly larger sensors than the X5 which in theory could help low light… we will see they always hype the smallest
