For what it’s worth, I level matched and A/B tested LS50 metas and Lintons in my room. The Kefs had more precise imaging and slightly crisper highs. The Lintons had a significantly better low end, as you would imagine, a warmer midrange and a wider soundstage. My favorite thing about the Lintons tho

Given you have that really nice Hegel, I’d go with the LS50 Meta. That assumes you really have the desk space as they are also sizable speakers. Dunno… Had quite a few different speaker systems but I totally loved my KEF Reference model II speakers and actually am very happy with my LS50 Meta’s now.

Headphones are for listening, speakers are for feeling. I have headphones (tungstens, dms omega, hd600, focal radiance) that are far superior to my speakers (kef ls50 meta with a crossover sub) on a technical level. But speakers just give a different feel to music.
