How should I start to get into making custom keyboards?
So this is a little step-by-step guide on how to get started simply without doing too much work or spending too much money but still feeling good about what you've accomplished... buckle up buckaroos, this is gonna be a long one! I suggest starting with something simple and inexpensive, like a hotsw

Studio users with non-Apple keyboards - what do you use for Touch/Face ID?
Yep! Go ahead and check out the "Keychron V5 Max" - the volume knob in the corner is also a button and you can just program anything onto that button - I have it programmed to put in my main computer password that you can use instead of Touch ID. You can also reprogram any of the F Keys to do your b

Bestbuy keyboards
These are two 96% options you can find at some Best Buy stores: Keychron V5 Max - good general purpose keyboard that you could customize Corsair Vanguard 96 - has extra features like screen and knob If you could arrange an Amazon pickup purchase, which I think is doable at Kohl’s and some stores, th

Red or Brown switches
I'll second the bananas. I received a Keychron V5 Max last week and was waffling between browns or bananas and super glad I went with bananas. Exactly as u/ArgentStonecutter says, they're smoother than browns while still having a tactile bump. They're extremely comfortable to type on.

Help finding a keyboard
i made a similar jump from razer a while back. the keychron v5 max is a solid 96% with an aluminum frame that fits your budget and comes in white. the monsgeek m2 you mentioned is also a great pick - their pre-built quality is surprisingly good. i'd lean toward the keychron for the stock keycaps and

Looking for a pink base or preferably a teal, light blue base keyboard
i feel you on the color hunt. that teal or pink combo with a full 96% layout is tricky. for tactile switches with some weight, check out the Keychron V5 Max in their purple or light blue - it's a 96% and you can get it with Gateron G Pro Browns which have a heavier feel. if you want something more b

Need some recommendations for a keyboard
i was in the same spot a few months back. ended up going with the Keychron V5 Max for my desk - it's a 96% layout so you keep the numpad but save some space. super smooth out of the box and well under your budget. also the NuPhy Air96 is a killer low-profile option if you want something sleeker for

Keyboard for everything
I have the mx mechanical and all I can say about it is that I really enjoy it. It works well with its dongle (which I also have plugged into a docking station as it’s for my work set up), its backlighting is nice with shine through key caps, and I like typing on it with the brown switches. It was my

Looking for a keyboard to use across windows and macos
If you want mechanical then Keychron is the obvious choice. If you want high profile and need a numpad go for the Q5 Max or V5 Max. If you don’t need a numpad Q1 Max or V1 Max. For low profile go K3 Max with no numpad or K17 Max if you need a numpad. If you don’t want mechanical then the Logitech MX
