Manual Espresso Grinder: Kinu M47 Classic vs 1zpresso J Ultra [No Budget]
I have the M47 Classic and love it. I use it mostly for pour over (using their dedicated Pour Over Burr) but it makes a great espresso with the “original” one. It’s a lovely grinder, and built like a tank. I haven’t used a J Ultra, but the Kinu seems a lot more flexible if you want to switch things

Baratza Encore ESP Pro: My experience
I’m torn on this one tbh. I like the espresso and pour over that I get out of the ESP Pro. Switching back and forth is very easy and repeatable with the digital setting display. That said, I just added a hand grinder (Kinu M47 Classic with pour over burrs) specifically for pour over and the results

Kinu M47 Classic VS 1Zpresso J-Ultra
I commented on your previous post - reiterating my thoughts here just to keep the conversation going: Kinu M47 Simplicity here, and no complaints so far. I love the external stepless adjustment, magnetic catch cup, solid metal construction, built-in funnel, and the ability to swap the classic espres

Doug and Barb present: The Orphan Espresso SMOL Hand Coffee Grinder
I’d get the Kinu if you’re looking for pour over burr swappability. The Kinu pour over burr doesn’t fit or work in the Smol grinder (as it turns out). If you’re not interested in a separate pour over burr, the Smol is a better grinder than the Rebel (IMO.) Or go KINU M47 Classic and get both sets of

Quick Mill Pop Up + 1zpresso K Ultra + Philos later? [CAD $2000]
Are you happy with the Baratza for pour over? If so, I think a good interim step would be the Baratza ESP Pro. It’s barely more expensive than the K-Ultra and a lot more flexible. Solid espresso results (for the money) and very easy to reliably switch between fine and coarser grinds with the digital

Is this a good idea?
Doesn't exactly answer your question but if you enjoy the hand-grinding ritual as I do, nothing thus far beats the tactile feel (smoothness), relative speed or build of a Kinu M47 Classic, which you can get with both an espresso and pourover burr (easy to switch) and which is easy to disassemble and

Adding pourover to espresso setup
Same. The idea of hand grinding for espresso isn’t appealing to me, and I didn’t really notice a difference in quality so I let my electric grinder handle that. Happy I switched to my hand grinder (Kinu M47 Classic) for pour over though. Definitely an improvement in flavor and consistency. I can onl

Thank you for the honest reply. I've only really used my kinu m47 classic manual grinder and I finally have been achieving god-like shots using medium roast beans. Thick, chocolate, some flavor separation, dense, long mouth feel, etc. I've tried a niche zero and it tastes less dense, a lot more blen

What grinder to save up for with Flair 58+2
I started with a Kinu M47 Classic after purchasing a Flair 58+2. But quickly got over hand grinding for well over a minute to grind 18-20 grams of beans. I did get great results though, but it took a while to dial in the Kinu. When I decided to go electric grinder I spent a lot of time researching a

What handgrinder do you recommend for Bambino Plus? [400 EUR]
The Kinu M47 series is very well-regarded for espresso. They also sell a replacement burr designed specifically for pour over if you end up going that route. I have the M47 Classic and really like it. That said, hand grinding for espresso is quite a workout. Make sure it’s something you’re up for.
