Two amazing deals - which one do I keep?
lenovo software support doesn't really matter on the linux side though, youll get gpu drivers through mesa and valve probably won't drop steamos support for the legion go s anytime soon, and if they do the community will surely take over like they did with Bazzite

Which would you pick and why?
I would recommend a Legion Go S Z1E 32GB if you can find one for a good price.

Bestbuy is tripping
The GoPocalypse is officially upon us. As someone who owns both a Legion Go S and a Legion Go 2 I’m really not sure how to feel about all this. On the one hand it feels like I invested in a stock that went up, on the other hand I’m more than a little concerned about what it might mean in general.

I'm returning my Legion Go S after buying a Legion Go gen 1 and putting Steam OS onto it
It's amazing how different people can be. I find the Go S to be one of the most comfortable handhelds out there. If they just slapped an OLED with VRR into a Go S and left everything else exactly the same I'd be super happy and wouldn't have bought a Legion Go 2.

On August 6th, Legion go s Windows and Steam versions received the latest AMD drivers, and from January until now, Legion go og has not received any latest drivers at all. Is it worth waiting for the official AMD Legion og drivers? I'm afraid this will happen again with Legion go 2
Why would I buy another Lenovo device when they've shown zero commitment to supporting devices for any length of time? I keep seeing posts from their rep saying "I promise it will get better" and nothing happens. Unbelievable that Legion Go has received such poor driver support.

I refuse to accept this as my fate working in Windows
Gonna drop the cliche "I'm on linux" post. I dual boot and, without fail, get better performance on my Ubuntu boot compared to my windows boot. It's not a mac vs windows issue, its a "windows is criminally bloated" issue. Hell the Legion Go S that just came out is good proof of that. They have 2 dif

As a person who has both, yep, legion go s is defo better choice. Steam deck is great, but bigger screen and more power - better fps/graphics and less eye strain for longer game sessions

Steam Machine 16 GB of RAM vs Lenovo Legion Go S Steam OS 32 GB of RAM - which one is more powerful?
The Steam Machine has a far more powerful GPU in terms of CUs. It'll also have way higher clocks since it's not a handheld device. It also has 8GB of dedicated crazy high bandwidth VRAM that the Legion Go S's shared DDR5 pool could never compete with. The Steam Machine by a large margin.

Made a pitstop after a work pickup to bless a new game.
Thats on a Legion Go S Z1E 32GB ram model. it runs insanely well on that, can do 120hz and keeps steady around like 80fps. Can probably squeeze out more fps if I drop the graphics down but it ran so well on the default settings I just left it lol
