It was a insanely great machine when it first came out. It's still serviceable. But it is very old for 2026. The prices people sell them for online are competing with much newer ThinkPads that have better processors (the one part you can't swap on the T480. So unless you find one for around 100$, it

If only they were always this competent. This must be a mistake on their part. I assume they fire their engineers if they accidentally make good products, which is how we no longer have the likes of the ThinkPad T480 or old Lenovo Legions that didn't randomly die.

If you really need Windows, I recommend Win10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021. Win11 LTSC 2024 also runs pretty well on my x270. But, Win10 LTSC runs great on all of my ThinkPads that range from a T420 to T480, s and non s. But, yeah, definitely install Linux as well.
