Is buying a used Thinkpad even worth it anymore?

If you just want a lightweight good battery laptop, the ThinkPad has never been the solution. Batteries have never been a ThinkPad strong point. Until around the T460 era, displays were a MARKED bad point - and even now, if you're looking for an outdoor usable display, ThinkPad panels are traditiona

Why is the ThinkPad keyboard still the best laptop keyboard ever ?

My T480 i7 has the best keyboard I´ve ever tried. Nice button size, nice travel, nice quality and great coating. I think that Lenovo understands that Thinkpad is mainly used as a daily driver/work/uni/personal laptop and knows that people need to have comfortable keyboards. I just love it! PD: I hav

Laptop for roblox

At less than $300 you’d be buying e-waste. Anything that price brand new is e-waste from the factory. It’ll likely not be very usable for anything more demanding than word documents or watching videos. Look on eBay for a Thinkpad T480. I purchased a T480 with an i5 8250U, 16gb ram, and a 512gb SSD f

Are t480 really this good?

The advantage of the T480 vs the 14 inch models coming after it is the external battery and the two SODIMM slots. Two SODIMM slots will make a brief re-appearance in the T14 Gen 5 / P14s Gen 5, some T14 Gen 6 has them as well and that's it (but of course the LPCAMM2 slot in the Gen 7 is far superior

Budget Laptops for College Students $500–$600, Need It to Last 4 Years

neo is definitely a game changer at $499 for students who've always wanted apple but couldn't afford it but two things worth thinking about for CS: screen size — 13" is pretty tight when you're coding. having your IDE, terminal, browser, and documentation all visible gets cramped fast. not a dealbre

The flea market gods have blessed me. $5 at the local ham flea market.

I got a KU-1255 ThinkPad keyboard for my desktop hoping it would feel close to the keyboard in my T480, but it doesn't. It's close, but the keypress force a bit lighter than the T480. How's this one? Also, does anyone else have any suggestions for T480-like experience?

My Prof uses a Thinkpad

I’m a noob to the ThinkPad world, and to the PC world in general. I have used Mac and other Apple products for over 20 years. I got a Panasonic ToughBook and Panasonic ToughPad for Ham radio use, but more recently I bought a whopping 3 Lenovo ThinkPads used on eBay and other refurbishing sites. P53,

E14 G7 - How does it feels like (material)?

My E14 G7 has an aluminium lid and bottom, only the keyboard deck is plastic. Lid and bottom feel cool to the touch, but not cold. However, that really depends on the ambient temperature. Lid is a fingerprint magnet, but I've seen worse. Edges are all rounded, nothing sharp or pointy. Keyboard deck

Why did you switch from a MacBook to a ThinkPad?

I am not sure that I switched in so much as that I'm just enjoying it more and more. But Linux is the primary driver behind this. I've been Linux gaming since like 2020. My MacBook Pro has been my daily driver for years - switched from Windows to Mac in 2010. So in Aug 2024 I wanted to see if I coul
