Are t480 really this good?
The advantage of the T480 vs the 14 inch models coming after it is the external battery and the two SODIMM slots. Two SODIMM slots will make a brief re-appearance in the T14 Gen 5 / P14s Gen 5, some T14 Gen 6 has them as well and that's it (but of course the LPCAMM2 slot in the Gen 7 is far superior

E14 G7 - How does it feels like (material)?
My E14 G7 has an aluminium lid and bottom, only the keyboard deck is plastic. Lid and bottom feel cool to the touch, but not cold. However, that really depends on the ambient temperature. Lid is a fingerprint magnet, but I've seen worse. Edges are all rounded, nothing sharp or pointy. Keyboard deck

Got my first ThinkPad, it's pretty cool
I'm not agains Thinkpads, I love keyboard trackpoint, but speakers and screen is so bad. Sorry for this. I had many of them Thinkpad R40, T61, SL410, T410, W520, W530, X1C Gen 2, Gen 4, T480, T14s Gen 1 and last one P14s Gen1. ThinkVantage is best between all laptop brands. It works perfect and this

Thinkpad x9 15p gen 1 vs. M5 Macbook Pro
I honestly really feel the Magic Keyboard and even the older scissor switch keyboards on Apple are more comfortable, to be fair I also probably just got a shit keyboard in my T480 and T14. Apple is not any more evil than any other manufacturer, so if you like macOS I’d say go for it. If you use a la

Final Call - T480 vs L14 Gen 1
I'd favor the L14. The T480 is a bit better built, with more battery options, but trades a 2 year age gap L14 2020, T480 2018, and an older hotter chipset. 8th and 10th Gen Intel are fairly close, but i5 was the sweet spot of those. i7 generated a lot of heat for not a lot of benefit. L14 gives you
