Do all 5K monitors have this grainy matte coating?
If you can find a used LG 27MD5KL-B, they’re pretty good. Main issue: they are seen as two displays in Linux (Ubuntu Wayland) at 5K because they’re running on Thunderbolt 3 with an older DisplayPort (Windows and MacOS combine the dp channels in the background). For new displays, the Kuycon G27P may

Is there any reason to purchase the M4 iMac over the M4 Pro MacBook? Besides screen size.
True, but I love our 27-inch LG UltraFine 5K monitors.

Best dual screen setup (besides MA270S) for MacBook Pro M5 Pro?
I think the MA270S already fits your use case pretty well. If you want to look around more though, I’d probably check out the Apple Studio Display, LG UltraFine 5K, or Dell U2725QE too. Those seem to be the ones Mac users bring up the most when talking about text clarity and good macOS scaling. The

What's the best MAC monitor that you love the most? What are you using now?
LG 27 5k Ultrafine 27MD5KL, Thunderbolt. Best sharpness, easy, simply the best and Philips Monitors Evnia 49M2C8900LA love it for playing and working too. Even for photoworks perfect too. At this time I use a Mac Mini 16/512 + ext. Nvme SSD 2TB.

Just bought the Studio Display with Nano texture and I think it was the wrong decision.
Just grab a cheap used LG or Samsung UHD/QHD monitor screen or TV from a local pawnshop (make sure to check the screen quality in person since it’s usually non-refundable), Craigslist, or eBay. You won’t regret it. If you really want a 5K screen, check out LG 27MD5KL-B 27 Inch UltraFine 5K IPS monit

Apple made External Monitors worse, then sold us retina displays
The only way to fix it is to buy a 27 inch 5k monitor which has like 218 PPI. But also you lose something because most of them are 60hz. This is really fu**ed up situations and makes me really frustrated. Because I have Macbook pro with pro motion which is 120hz and I have to use 5k monitor with 60h

iMac Pro screen ghosting and pink fades on borders
I’ve seen the pink discoloration around the edges on older LG UltraFine 5K 27-inch displays that have nearly identical panels to the iMac Pro. I’ve also seen it on older Apple Cinema Displays. The problem never goes away. I’ve also seen bad image retention (the previous image still appears) on my ol

is an LG ultrafine 5K worth it these days?
Chiming in to say (like others) I found one for $400 (27MD5KL-B) and I’ve been very happy with it. Going strong for over a year, no issues. Definitely worth it at this price! You can have two for the same price as a Studio Display and still have cash left over.

Best monitor for Graphic Design work to buy now?
It's been a while, but from memory, at the time, the Dells used the same IPS screen as the studio displays, but a whole lot cheaper. Dunno about now, but you could find what screen the studio display uses (i.e LG, Samsung, etc.) and then find other brands that use the same screen, at least compare t
