Give it to me straight - what’s the consensus on Steam Deck OLED?

The reason for the split is some people treat handheld PCs as a secondary gaming device, so their expectations regarding higher end demanding games are lower as they can game on a PS5/PC and/or game stream demanding games. While others treat handheld PCs as their primary gaming device either due to

Windows hate is overblown.

I think it's mostly around the current implementation of windows on handhelds. It's a standard version of windows, with some extra bits on top to shoehorn it onto handhelds. Steamos was purpose built with handhelds in mind. It's also based on arch Linux and runs only what's required. Whereas you got

Intel "Lunar Lake" Updated PL2 Setting Can Yield Up to 30% Higher Gaming Performance

In our retest, Cyberpunk 2077 and Space Marine 2 achieved nearly a 30% performance uplift with this setting. The Lunar Lake-based MSI Claw AI+ A2VM handheld is the highest-performing device we have tested across the board, even surpassing AMD-based devices in our testing suite. In other games, basel

I have 1000$ to spend on a handheld - what should I buy

Gosh man, people still recommending the steam deck is a little frustrating. He has 1000 dollars, and can easily afford something with far, far more performance than a steam deck but nope. For OP, I would recommend the Xbox ally x or MSI claw 8ai+

Looking forward Phawx's tweaking

Just FYI. I've been collecting data on Win5 at 15/20/25/30/35/40/45/50 at 720p/1080p and also included Blackmyth and Doom the Dark Ages so you can get UE5 and a game with forced RT to help contextualize why what the Win5 is capable of and where it has diminishing returns. I also collected new data w

Xbox Ally in great demand, ASUS expects to make up to $160 million from handhelds and ramps up production

I don't have the Xbox ally but I have the msi claw 8 ai, and it runs the Xbox front end just the same. I'm 40, and a new first time dad. If it wasnt for handheld gaming id be out of the hobby. Too easy just to pick it up for a few minutes before bed or if the baby is napped out. It's how Im playing

Billbil-Kun: Xbox Rog Ally releases October 16

Poorly, just like all the other Ally units. Asus, MSI et all are iterating too much and flooding the market with units that all sorts of compromises. It confuses the average buyer - and you need their dollars for this concept to become a big enough hit to matter. Valve did it right. Keep the platfor

Is the Z2go really that bad?

Don't trust a single Fps Vn video. I'm someone who owns multiple handhelds and tests them regularly, and their videos are normally complete BS. They claim to have handhelds before release for example, the Legion Go 2 and the MSI Claw 8 AI+ before that was released. They never show actual footage fro

Would you still purchase the Legion Go 2 if the retail price is over $1000?

I can't go over 800-900 for a handheld. That's the reason I just bought secondhand Msi claw 8 ai+ as the z2e models are similar in performance to the Intel chip, which will hold me over the next 2-3 years or more. I already have a buyer for the LeGo so I can recoup some of the funds

Comparing the ROG Xbox Ally X to other handhelds. Does it compete with the higher end or lower end matket [Strictly Performance Only; Don’t look at Value]

The 2025 Xbox Ally X will have about 15-20% performance uplift as compared to the 2023 ROG Ally X. The other specs are essentially the same. However, as someone who has played with both devices, the ergonomic design on the new Xbox Ally is a major improvement to the previous Ally’s. Imo, it’s far an
