He's dead, Jim (D500 replacements?).
No Z8 II soon, it will be at least a year after a Z9II, and the only pro Z cameras (settings banks like you're used to) are the Z8 and Z9. The highest-end DX Z body is the Z50II, which is a D5x00 replacement camera and not nearly up to the pro standards. Why not just send it to Nikon and use their f

Is Nikon Z50 II better than Canon R50 bundle for a beginner?
I can't speak for the Canon; I shoot full frame Z bodies, 80-90% corporate/industrial video and some corporate stills/product shoots. The little Z50ii is my little gimbal monster though - it punches way above its weight/price. Nikon simply didn't cripple the thing in any meaningful way. It lacks in-

Recomendation for beginners
Okay, so a couple of things That is absolutely the right camera to start learning photography - good job. Until the Z50II came out I always recommended the ZFc but for various reasons the Z50II is now the better choice Don't buy new. See if Nikon has that exact gear available refurbished at a discou

Nikon would've broke the bank with how much something along the lines of a z500 would sell. Correct me if I'm wrong, but z50ii proves that there's still demand for aps-c mirrorless bodies. D500 is one of the best cameras that nikon has ever made in my opinion, and a mirrorless alternative with ibis

Beginner Nikon camera recommendation $1000–$1200?
Z50ii, look for the 2-lens kit on Nikon’s refurb sale. It’s hands down Nikon’s best entry-level wildlife camera.

Mirrorless equivalent of D7500?
People are going to say Z50ii, but it's a side-grade. You're going to get similar image quality and AF performance in a smaller body with better video, but the end result is the same. Sometimes a slightly smaller package is all it takes to encourage you to use your camera more, but you're pretty muc

My d500 has a shutter count of 576,750, thinking about what to do (upgrade or not?)
As a fellow hobbyist, I don't see anything wrong in sticking to the D500 (shutter replacement, or second used body) if you're satisfied with it. Great value, great performance... Now, if you're curious, why not rent a Z to try it... As someone else suggested, Z50 II would the only option for sports

Nikon USA Refurbished Sale is up
Z50 II for $650 is really nice. I don't think you can buy a better camera for $650 USD new or used

If you wanted to buy the best camera for birdwatching (and wildlife) for up to $2000/€, what would you buy?
If you want to stick with Nikon, my pick would be a Z50ii with a 150-600mm or the 180-600mm (if the budget will stretch to it--how are used prices for the 180-600?). Alternatively a D500 with a 200-500 (Nikon) or 150-600 (Sigma or Tamron).

For plane photography would getting a Nikon Z6 III be better or Nikon Z7 II
But we don't live in a vacuum. We live in a world where the Z7 II costs double what the Z50 II does.
