Nikon D850 vs Z6III

I have the exact same setup. D850, D5, Z6iii. Z6iii video is outstanding. I don’t do professional video but the quality is great for home use. For stills, D850 is the best quality. Obvious answer there. Z6iii and D5 are comparable in image quality. I like the D5 autofocus better in fast, crowded env

Considering the move from Fuji to Nikon as a pro photographer

I went H2 to Z6iii- the biggest thing you will see is that the autofocus with Nikon blows the socks off anything Fuji has. The S line lenses are way better than the red badge XF glass as well. I miss the aperture rings though.

Joined the club! From Sony to Nikon

I’d love to hear your reasons for switching from Sony to Nikon. I was deciding between the two a couple of years ago, went with Nikon, and sometimes wonder if I made the right choice. I went with Nikon because I started with film decades ago and their UI has always felt the most natural to me. I had

Need some expert advice on two combos? Z50II+16-50 /f2.8 DX vs Z5II+24-120/f4

I have the Z50ii with the 16-50 kit lens (not the f/2.8 lens that you are thinking about). I also have the Z6iii with the 24-120. Here is my take: For a lightweight and portable kit you can't beat the Z50ii + 16-50 f/2.8 combo (825g vs 1,250g of the Z5ii + 24-120. As for low light performance, there

What is it with Nikon and Social Media

The problem is other brands early mirrorless didn't suck. But Nikon's did. I'd never understand how they a) reacted way too late (years) and b) launched an inferior product. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that this will stick for years, maybe decades and that many who waited out

Compulsory jacaranda post

Nikon Z6iii with 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 lens I normally use this setup for part time Motorsport photography, but it’s an amazing wildlife combo, now tempted to spend a day at Taronga zoo with the camera

Nikon Autofocus quality? Z5II,6III or 7II

I do a decent amount of event coverage in lowlight settings. The Z6III is a great performer and I’ve been able to get very detailed shots shooting at even 12,800 ISO. Autofocus wise, it performs great. I would say it’s 98% of Sony’s, but with more customization available in the controls/menus. Z5II

Z6iii or Z8?

In your shoes I’d go for a Z6iii, as long as you don’t really need the Z8’s extra features/pixels. Z6iii is also easier to carry around, and has more of Nikon’s new imaging cloud ecosystem embedded.

Nikon Z6iii vs Nikon D850 vs Nikon D780 for Military Use

I understand. I just upgraded to the Z6iii from a D800. I compared the D850 and rented it but decided to go with the z6iii. The D850 is still a great camera but it’s old technology that is getting older by the day. The image processor on the z6iii is 2 generations newer than the D850. It has higher

Anyone moved from a Sony A9 to a Nikon z5ii or ZF?

On the body end, I would think that would be a downgrade? A Z5II and A9 are the same size and weight. The A9 I think samples its AF system faster than a Z5II as well. What if you put the 200-600 on a gimbal? If you really wanted to go Nikon, and get a real performance increase, I would think Z6III a
