Any new camera news?

a new generation stacked sensor (25MP), I don't care for it to be honest. The image quality difference between 20 and 25MP chips are so minor already a higher buffer, What for? I feel like the OM-1ii's buffer is plenty good at over 250 shots at 50fps and nearly infinite buffer at lower burst rates l

Switching (or adding) Micro 4/3 to my Sony APS-C setup for Wildlife and Travel?

I was a Sony user (NEX-5N > a6000 > A7 ii) up until last winter when I made the switch to m43 with an E-M1 ii. This winter I've started shooting birds with the OM System 100-400 ii, something which I would never have done with Sony because as you're well aware the lenses are simply too big & too exp

Looking for Advice on a New m43 Camera Build

Go for a used Olympus OM-D E-M1 markII. Its much more camera than the em5 and you'll be able to grow into it. Ergonomics are great on it so holding it for hours during the walk-a-thon won't be so horrible. It also has custom profiles on the dial so you can have one dedicated to different scenarios a

What are the best offerings at each price point and when would you spend more?

For the under £400 category the E-M1 Mark II is absolutely unbeatable. Metal construction, proper rated weather sealing, 4k video, dual card slots (one UHS-II), 5Gbps USB C, mic & headphone sockets. Many of the newer bodies from Olympus/OM System inexplicably have USB 2 data rates & 1080 video. The

In love with my Fujifilm X-Pro 2

The X-Pro2 is one of my "special" cameras. Most cameras, I could use them and love them, but if you present me the upgraded model, I probably wouldn't have any problems when it comes to switching to the newer model. Like, I used to use an X-T2 + X-H1 for event photography. Change them for an X-T3 +

Wrist strap recommendation for OM-3?

I don't have an OM-3 but i use peak design capture clip on my E-M1 mark ii, and the plate on the bottom of the camera is a much comfier place for my wrist strap than either of the built in loops.

Budget Olympus/OM System bodies for wildlife photography?

The best value is clearly the E-M1 mark II. You get 18fps shooting with C-AF, Pre-Capture and a sensor fast enough that you can shoot electronic shutter without too much fear. The Autofocus is accurate and pretty reliable, if not completely devoid of automation when it comes to subject detection. Th

Question about selling E-m1 mark ii

The E-M1 mark II is a GREAT camera (I would know, I use two of them), but if you're mostly a hobbyist and you mostly use the better-in-every-way OM-1.1, honestly I don't think there is much reason to keep the E-M1.2 around. Yes, it's great. Yes, it's a great backup body to the OM-1. But maybe you'd

Looking to upgrade: oM-5 Mark II or something else

The OM-5 Mark II has most of the features, and the same sensor, as the OM-D E-M1 Mark III, but in a smaller, lighter package. It runs around $1200 for the body. The OM-3 has most of the features and the same sensor as the OM-1 in a slightly larger and heavier package. It runs around $1700 for the bo

Best M43 autofocus

OM1 ii and OM3 are probably the best when using C-AF with subject detection. I upgraded from the em5 iii (basically the same AF as the em1 ii) to the OM3 and I'm getting way more keepers. That being said, the OM1 i, EM1 iii, and OM5 i/ii all have better face detect than the em1 ii. I find that you h
