Sure, if you have room elsewhere, you could e.g. place the spools in a dryer/drybox above the printer. But I think the merits of the Core One "integration" of INDX should mainly be assessed on the basis of the package Prusa provides.

INDX in action at Rapid
I you compare Official Core One model files and STEP file of INDX, it wont fit of course, integration reference and Prusa specific version differ. But you can image how big the thing is, where is the nozzle and so on. I personally think that is the reason they introduced that big weird metal plate.
