New firmwares for S5m2(x), S9 dropped

Debatable They vastly degraded the s5iix image quality with aggressive sharpening and NR post launch (firmware which can't be reversed) and later completely removed streaming functions which were heavily marketed and users specifically paid for with the s5iix over the s5ii Also every other update br

Why is the G9ii more expensive than the S5ii?

S5ii is Panasonics entry level full frame camera made using quite an older sensor that. The g9ii is a more niche product but also a higher end model, just that its a m4/3 which some will see as a crippled camera. I personally would take gh7 over a s5ii anyday of the week

Selling my S1II after 3 months — disappointed with the image quality

I've been harping on Panasonic to fix their heavy spatial NR filtering they use on internal codecs for a long time. I noticed it starting with the S5iix on the first update in June 2023, I have a document written on it too. Unfortunately a huge downgrade after that update and it just looks very blan

Over-processed image of the S5iix / S1ii ?

By all accounts you can get a more organic image by shooting Pro-Res and Raw formats, but these come with huge file sizes. H264 and H265 file sizes are so much more reasonable for so many workflows - and I have also noticed the difference going from an S1 / S1H to an S5II. Up-voting this because its

Problems with the S1II

I have most Panasonic cameras but also the A7CII and the Z6III. I agree with you about the video processing in H265/H264/Prores. Since the S5II the video engine is pretty bad. The A7CII is just much better. What you said about the people skin is true, when cropping inside the videos, it has smoothed

S5III prediction base on S1HII rumors?

Current hardware in S5II/X isn't up to that readout speed. It's double the pixels of the ZVE1. There's way more to this equation than merely the numbers 4k and 60 fps. Plus Lumix has staked it's brand reputation on rock solid reliability, not pushing the envelope on bleeding edge speed. You're askin

S1RII (SL3 but Lumix) reportedly CONFIRMED - launching in February

Stuck wondering how they'll be able to make this better than the SL3 if it's using the same sensor. Maybe there's some magic they can add on top of that, but that particular Sony sensor has been around the block for a few years now and it's short-comings are clear. I mean the SL3-S is essentially a

Is there much difference between S5 and S1II?

I have most Lumix camera and about IBIS and AF, it's true the S1II is much better. However, image quality is the most important thing for me and the S5 has much nicer fine details. In my opinion, the S1II (like the S5II) is a downgrade compared to the S5 if you don't need fast AF.There is however a

Anyone using Lumix S1ii for real estate?

I dabbled in real estate with a Sony loaner camera before investing in a S5ii and the Panasonic 14-28. One thing I realized straight away is that Panasonic offers less flexibility with bracketing. The maximum difference between each exposure is one stop. This means that to achieve +-3 stops it is ne

Problems with the S1II

If compared to cameras like the A74, Panasonic looks overly processed since the S5II. You can shoot in 6K to avoid most of the oversharpening, the the chroma filtering will still be there
