New firmwares for S5m2(x), S9 dropped
Debatable They vastly degraded the s5iix image quality with aggressive sharpening and NR post launch (firmware which can't be reversed) and later completely removed streaming functions which were heavily marketed and users specifically paid for with the s5iix over the s5ii Also every other update br

Why is the G9ii more expensive than the S5ii?
S5ii is Panasonics entry level full frame camera made using quite an older sensor that. The g9ii is a more niche product but also a higher end model, just that its a m4/3 which some will see as a crippled camera. I personally would take gh7 over a s5ii anyday of the week

S5III prediction base on S1HII rumors?
Current hardware in S5II/X isn't up to that readout speed. It's double the pixels of the ZVE1. There's way more to this equation than merely the numbers 4k and 60 fps. Plus Lumix has staked it's brand reputation on rock solid reliability, not pushing the envelope on bleeding edge speed. You're askin

After so long finally got the Z8
I'm buying it too. Z8 + 180-600 total €3600. I'm returning my LUMIX S5II with all its lenses and even my aging micro four-thirds gear! I choose it for its autofocus speed, and I prefer it to the Sony A7 V for its higher megapixel count and crop capabilities.

I've been researching cameras & lenses for weeks and have narrowed my final choice down to Olympus or Sony, but I can't decide between them. What should I do?
Think of you ever needing to have zooms. If so, MFT has a huge advantage in weight and price here, especially if we are talking about constant aperture. This advantage is not that obvious with short zooms, but quickly gets serious on 100+ mm. I was circling around the same question as you for months

Overthinking: G9ii vs S5ii vs GH7 traveling and indoor shooting at higher frame rates
The S5II kit 20-60 isn't the sharpest wide open. It also isn't the fastest. The difference in DOF between Full frame and MFT is 2 stops of aperture. A Panasonic 10-25 F1.7 would actually give you a shallower depth of field and more light than the 20-60. But that is a big expensive lens, and the GH7

Convince me not to buy the Lumix 35mm S Prime Lenses for the Lumix S5ii and S9
I feel like you can fix most optical flaws in post nowadays. And the 35mm samples I've seen are not optically better enough compared to the zoom to justify the purchase. The only real difference is going to be bookeh, by a very marginal amount. Why not leverage your s5ii's features and get yourself

Lumix still an underdog?
Autofocus has improved considerably but Lumix is still behind major brands. The inability to set custom brackets is baffling, especially if you shoot real estate. In order to get +-3 stops you have to shoot 7 pictures which is extremely annoying. The TTL flash performance is slightly sluggish compar

Blackmagic just announced a sale price (limited) on the Cinema Cam 6k of $1575 (40% off)
Genuinely can't get over how great this deal is. In my country it's the 2nd cheapest of the Pocket Cinema body line. Like sub $3K NZD 6K Open Gate with OLPF is impossible to beat. Even the Lumix S5ii is not that cheap compared to this now. Don't really see the point of getting a Pyxis for an extra $

If you had a choice to start over and pick either M43 or Full Frame, which one would you pick?
I would get a full frame. The development of M43 system has been stagnant. I’ve been waiting for a successor of Panasonic GX9 and G9, but it seems Panasonic has put very little effort in developing new M43 cameras except for video centric GH series. Meanwhile, S5 II gets all the new features and is
