New firmwares for S5m2(x), S9 dropped
Debatable They vastly degraded the s5iix image quality with aggressive sharpening and NR post launch (firmware which can't be reversed) and later completely removed streaming functions which were heavily marketed and users specifically paid for with the s5iix over the s5ii Also every other update br

Selling my S1II after 3 months — disappointed with the image quality
I've been harping on Panasonic to fix their heavy spatial NR filtering they use on internal codecs for a long time. I noticed it starting with the S5iix on the first update in June 2023, I have a document written on it too. Unfortunately a huge downgrade after that update and it just looks very blan

Problems with the S1II
The AF part- 100% my experience (with s5ii at least, the s1ii should be only tad better). The “wide zone +tap to track which actually works and doesnt loose subject” mode on sony is ideal for run&gun/ events and panasonic just makes you concentrate on checking if the focus didnt drifted off instead

what's with S1Rii having so much drama in youtube?
Its just weird how a, what was a photo centric camera gets passed of now as true hybrid. It leaves it in a weird place. Because the keynote mainly focussed on its video specs.. So most of the reviews are about video, while if lumix promoted it as a photo centric with great video options it would be

Problems with the S1II
I have most Panasonic cameras but also the A7CII and the Z6III. I agree with you about the video processing in H265/H264/Prores. Since the S5II the video engine is pretty bad. The A7CII is just much better. What you said about the people skin is true, when cropping inside the videos, it has smoothed

Anyone else finding the S1II can give some weird colours at times?
I own or owned lot of Panasonic full frame and m43 cameras. To my eyes, the S1II has the worse colors, by example a lot of time when I look at my footage, I think the greens look off and it is not only because of the white balance. The S5II had nicer colors on my opinion, the first firmware of this c

I am sooo happy with my z5ii
I only borrowed the S5II for about a week. I had the Sony for almost a year, so I can say more about the Sony. And as already mentioned in another comment, the A7IV is a great camera. The AF is beyond reproach, and the dynamic range and 33MP are great. I also think the G-Master lenses are great. I b

Prores raw Update
BM most likely put ProRes Raw in only the Pocket 4K because it was a very old camera and they were satisfying some contract they have with Apple. Look like a business tactic, rather than them earnestly wanted to provide new features. With the S5IIX, I doubt they’re going to add internal raw (or to U

S5ii produces worse images than S5?
Standard profiles are worse across the board (more contrast, worse colors, more sharpening, more noise, more noise reduction which leads to bad fine details) In pictures it’s not so much of an issue because you can easily shoot raw. I also happen to think the S5ii/X is a much better stills camera th
