Running a Sonos Arc Ultra with dual subs, era 300 surrounds and fives as fronts. TrueHD Atmos is much better via my ShieldTV, streaming Atmos sounds dull in comparison. If you have the speakers that can take advantage of TrueHD it is worth it.

Interesting. I’ve seen at least one other person with a very similar setup say they don’t have this issue, so I wonder if something in the DSP / tuning chain is hanging on from an earlier configuration. First thing I’d try is the simplest one: 1. Unplug power from everything — TV, Arc, Fives, Subs,

A home theater would typically be a minimum of base level five speakers, a subwoofer and an AVR. Soundbars, if that’s what you meant by a speaker bar, are a horrible scam product that more often than not will be arguably worse than the factory speakers in a current generation OLED TV. Friends do not

This is a great post as others have mentioned. Another vote for the 5s up-front. Before I discovered Sonosquencr, I had two fives in the front of my living room for music only and had arc, sub mini, and connect:amp running rears. But my preferred music listening mode was to group the 5s with the HT

You will hear marked improvement no matter what speakers you use. I have a lot of Sonos gear and have tested era 100s (great), era 300s (poor), Fives (Epic), Ones Gen 2 (great) Play 3s (almost as good as Fives) Fronts are biggest soundstage improvement I’ve made to my gear. Better than era 100 to 30

I have a lot of Sonos gear and one of my favorite rigs is in our 400sf loft: It’s a Beam 2/ era 100 surrounds/Sub Mini, with Fives as fronts. I used era 100s as fronts before the Fives. Both are fabulous! I’d suggest that you get the era 100s and try them and your Play 1s up front and pick the combi

Really looking forward to the continuous audio feature solving so many of the issues between Sonos and Apple TV (I’m not on the beta so still waiting for it to release). My only remaining gripe is the inability to isolate EQ settings on the center channel within Sequencr. If I could do that, I’d be

Exactly what TronAres25 said, stick with Sonos, you’ve got the bigger TV. I used to have a full Atmos system with KEF speakers, Sony AVR and projector, a great home cinema. I downsized, got the full Sonos as you and an 85” TV. Much happier, no tweaking to do, just enjoy. If you are craving to spend

It’s absolutely worth it! When you add the front L&R speakers, the system deactivates just the front L&R channels on the soundbar. All the others are still active and the outboard speakers replace those two channels. Your One SLs are perfect for the job! I have a lot of Sonos gear between two homes.

Using 100s in the rear vs 300s you are losing addtional height position renforcement the 300s provide in the rear from their up firing speakers. Not a concern if your content does not have height channels from spatial audio like Dolby Atmos or DTS X. In my system and room the Arc ultra needed extra
