Advice - Olympus 1000mm f11 E.Zuiko Auto-T Lens
Sony A7ii | Zuiko 1000mm Lunar photography seems to be its niche. Generally it’s very slow so quite tough to use with film… you need to have a fairly decent shutter speed to counteract wobble even on a tripod, which is tough at f11. You need a good tripod and you’ll still get a decent workout as you

So hard to justify shooting a Leica.
The OP makes some valid points. However, it’s never going to be valid to compare a handmade Leica M body to a mass-produced DSLR or mirrorless camera. There will always be something out there that is mass-produced with a better sensor for less money than the latest handmade M. So don’t even try to j

Is this an accurate representation of the difference in color science between Canon's and Sony's newest camera bodies? (Images 2-5 were taken with my Canon R8. Context below)
So a lot of folks have talked about color science not being a "thing" or that you can always fix the colors in post. This may be a hot take for this sub but I have switched systems multiple times because of color science and it absolutely makes a difference. When you're shooting people and the color

Which camera for grad pics?
If you're only going to use the camera for grad photos and nothing else, you're better off using your phone. Just get a phone tripod and a remote shutter for a phone and you're good to go. Phone photography and self-portrait basics: Save this hands-free photo hack! by emilia.matte_ - Voice control.

Newbie in the Film World—Help Me Decide: Macro Lens or Scanner?
Setting up macro photography IS fiddly. Also how much better it will be than a good scanner will depend on many variables - just to name a few the lens, the stand, how stable your table is, how sensitive the floor is to vibrations and most importantly how patient and careful you are when setting up.

Any a7ii user in here?
i shot on an a7ii for years and low light was always a battle. the sensor just gets noisy fast. the best advice i can give is to expose to the right (ETTR) without clipping, even if it looks bright on the crappy LCD. having a decent external monitor with false color or waveforms helps immensely with

My silver nose 50mm f1.4 doing a nice job on my Sony
I had a sony a700 and used minolta lenses, they are nice too. They create beautiful stars in water.I was using a Olympus Om2 when i was younger, i guess that is wheremy interest for Zuiko started. I changed to Nikon D1, a nice camera withgood image quality but only 2.7 mp images but that was state of

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?
I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

Your opinion?
My first real camera was the Nikon d5200 and it’s an amazing camera. I bought it 10 years ago brand new in box for $300. It was on clearance at PC Richards. I got a 50mm and a sigma zoom lens…regret selling it few years back to get a Sony a7ii. But solve the Nikon and will use another one soon as th

Is this an upgrade or a downgrade?
Well, as said, it’s not that the first gen A7 is inherently bad with AF, it’s definetly way under the later versions (th A7II is a BOG upgrade in that compartment). Is a really different way of shooting than a DSLR and needs some getting used to. IMHO, if I were to go on a lighter everyday carry, I
