Why not go Leica Q?

similar resolution sensor It's the same sensor. Some people value compact size a lot and the Sony rx1 series cameras are absolutely tiny. For a fixed lens camera the Q series are pretty big. You can build a smaller kit if you buy a sony A7CR and use a small prime (again, same sensor). I'm also guess

New Sony Camera announced: RXR1 III (A Premium Full-Frame)

If it was $3k I would understand it but at $5k it makes no sense just get the Fuji or pay a little more and get a Leica. If you really want a Sony just get the A7CR and a 35 1.8 for $1300 less.

Long shot but anyone interested in trading an X2D for my Sony system?

I traded my a7cr + lenses to get into MF with an x2d2. Looking at your lenses, what you might miss is the long lens choices. And possibly the size. Carrying around an X2D with 35-100 is a lot bigger package than the Sony with a 24-70. The longest current lens is 135, similar size to the 35-100, but

Leica guy shoots a Nikon.

Haaa. FWIW I AF my M lenses on Sony and Nikon with the techart adapters. Works better with some lenses than others but it’s generally great. Nocti 35mm / A7CR combo works so well I let my Q343 go last week.

Leica Q family is complete

I love the lenses; the simplicity of the menu system; the dials; that it is weather sealed; the size and weight. Everything about the camera is perfect IMHO. I sold my Ricoh GR iii, my Sony Alpha 1, and my Sony A7CR (and a boatload of lenses) because I found I was always reaching for my Leicas.

How do you comfortably carry your D850 or any other FF mirrored or mirrorless body?

The D850 is too heavy for a neck strap regardless of lens IMO. A hefty cross body strap is my preference, or a bag with the same cross body setup if I’m going to want quick access, but you need a pretty large bag to hold the beast. Backpack for longer amounts of walking between photos (e.g. landscap

NYPD’s Chief Aaron Edwards in pursuit of attempted ISIS-linked attacker this past Saturday.

NYC is peak street photography. Ive always carried my camera for with me and I don’t even shoot professionally anymore. A protest is naturally an interesting subject to shoot and it wasn’t a sudden mystery. A modern camera like my Sony A7CR can lock on to a persons eye for focus before I can even fu

Joined the club! From Sony to Nikon

I have both a Sony and a Nikon Z camera. I am very much attached to both, and am therefore keeping them though it wasn’t the smartest move (economically speaking) for an enthusiast like me to invest in 2 different brands… (long story how I ended up there, but in short, I can relate to the feeling yo

First Day with the Ricoh GR IV Monochrome on Valentines Day

They look really good! This doesn't help me buy one 😅 Great buy! I also left behind a Sony A7CR Now I have the GRIV but the monochrome is still on my mind.
