Sony Fanboy Looking at Fuji

I have Sony and Fuji cameras. I would not call an A7RV “unpleasant to shoot”. Maybe it’s not fun to shoot with, but if you find it unpleasant you need to sell it. The images I get from that camera are outstanding. I agree that Fuji is more enjoyable to use, they feel like they were designed by peopl

To anyone who has shot multiple systems: How do Lumix and Olympus lenses actually stack up against other brands?

This is the usual PoV of a FF user who hasn't used M43 and really has no idea what he's talking about. He is basically repeating internet rhetoric that he hasn't bothered to explore. Ask him which M43 cameras & lenses he's used? If you want an unbiased PoV then check out the numerous Wedding photogr

Most photographers don’t need better gear, they need better taste

I just upgraded from a Sony a7Riii to a7RV and what a difference! I know they aren't the go to for sports but I like motorsports and they do me well at the track while still working great for all the other stuff away from the track. The auto focus alone on the A7RV is worth the upgrade. It picks up

Anyone using a a7V for a B camera?

If you mean for video, I'm using an A7RV (note "R", so not the A7V) for B-Cam because sometime in early summer last year DJs decided everything needs multicam. I bought the A7RV as my main photo camera to replace my Nikon D750 - after buying an FX3 for video it seemed daft to run two lens systems, a

I have the money for a full frame camera for the first time since having kids. I start looking at the Z5ii and R10 and then the lenses and realize I don't want to spend almost $4,000 on a camera and lens. Does anyone also feel fine with M43 but get scared away with prices on FF?

Excellent summation. I also use both Sony (A7r5) and OM (OM1 & OM3) and 95% of the time I pick up the cameras in the order = OM3, OM1, A7r5, A6000 (IR). People need to consider what they use their photos for (social media, forums, family, small prints (under say 100cms x 80cms) etc. even entering co

Bird photography while hiking

Sony a6700 and the a7R5 have the best autofocus on the market. Sony has put that autofocus capability in other cameras but they get very expensive. A zoom lens with ~600mm of zoom will not be light. The Sony 200-600 is excellent and Sony also makes a 2x teleconverter to extend the 600mm to 1200mm. S

Musical theater photography exposure/lighting question?

My first theater shoot was Legally Blonde. I had similar struggles with the harsh stage lighting but eventually mastered it. As others say, prioritize exposing for the highlights as shadows are easy to raise in post. I use multi-metering with priority on faces (an option on my Sony gear, but not on

Camera recommendations

My recommendations will change slightly based on what you want to take pictures of AND your budget (to get beyond gopro pics): Shoestring bottom budget $2000 - TG system with olympus housing and Backscatter MF strobe. Good all around camera with top tier macro and acceptable wide capabilities Midran

Got the X2D II & 20-35E! Need Suggestions!!!

sony has the fastest autofocus on the planet and has backlit sensors to help with light - a7r v or a7 v would be good for you....I'd trade up to be honest (I just moved from sony to X2D v1 - though I do mostly landscapes and macro for a hash company so my needs are vastly different)

SL2-S or save for a SL3/-S?

I went through a similar thought process after i bought my M10-R and several M lenses several years ago. I loved shooting the M10-R and thought it would be a great idea to replace my D850 with a Leica mirrorless SL2 (and several Leica SL lenses) as a complement to my rangefinder. The short answer is
