Current favorite external SSDs for cache?
Crucial X9 is working great for me connected to M2 Mac Studio. Using in concert with Synology 1821+ HDD RAID NAS. That said, it appears you may need more speed than me. I’m totally content with 1,050 MB/s. I believe the X10 is 2,000 MB/s.

guys, i need more storage
I have DS1821+ with 2 expansions, later I found out, the link cable is the biggest "Single Point of Failure". One move, a cat or a bad cable. ALL data is unrecoverable, because you lose more than 2 drives at once. A rebuild is not possible. So, you can't span your volume over the expansion without t

Looking for a NAS to store my movie collection
Synology DS923+ or DS1821+ would be perfect for you. Easy setup, great for 4K streaming, and room to grow beyond 40TB. Their software is basically plug-and-play. No building, no headaches. Just pop in drives and you're rolling!

NAS for Home Theater Media Question
I moved from plex and other tings running on an old windows pc to a synology ds1821+. If I had it to do again I'd do the same. For me the killer app is SHR allowing disparate drives to give redundancy. I love the rich user community - I had my apps all install on a local ssd before I added the cache
