I can only successfully search for and find the DS223J if I turn off my PC firewall! Did it cross your mind that for whatever reason you blocked the DS in your PC firewall ?! As usual the problem is not Synology (or any other hardware). The problem is located right with you, 60cm in front of the mon

Nekem van egy pár Synology NAS-om. Belépő szintűek, J osztályúak. Van 10 évesél is régebbi és szépen megy. Otthonra ajánlhatom a DS223j típust. Ebbe tehetsz egy vagy két lemezt, ezek lehetnek RAIDben vagy szólóban is. NASba SSD-t nem célszerű használni, kivéve ha kifejezetten erre tervezett a NAS. E

Nope, and you don't want to. Buy a simple two-disk NAS like a Synology DS223j with NAS grade drives, set it up as a RAID1 mirror and move on. If you're using an original Time Capsule, that drive must be 10+ years old at this point (assuming it's original) and if it's an older Time Capsule could be a

Always shr1. Doesn't benefit you that much now however on a two bay unit compared to raid1 but possibly later on when doing a hdd migration to another model with more drive bays. Then it would turn out you chose wisely. For a two drive shr1 raid, it is actually raid1 under the hood. When on another

If you want it just for Time Machine - the Synology DS223j. Soon after you get it you'll see all the uses and which you purchased a better one.

Made the switch yesterday. Had a DS223j, wanted something that was quicker and could actually do docker / jellyfin. Had an order in for a DS925+ until I saw that it couldn't do hardware transcoding anymore without a modification of the drivers. Decided to cancel that and buy the DXP4800 Pro and so f

fwiw, i also have a DS223j from a couple of years back but i recently bought a 4-bay terramaster f4-423 for around the same price and it's been pretty solid, no complaints at all. i stuck a spare 8gb of ram in it and it seems to run really fast. I actually prefer the OS to synology tbh

I recently research NAS solutions and I decided the Synology DS223j was a good choice. But I paid extra to get the DS223 because it has a faster processor and more RAM. Not sure it makes much of a difference for something usage like Mac Time Machine backups and simple file shares. Here's a link to a

I just went through this "I need a NAS" journey ... here's my story ... (all prices Canadian) I watched a video where a guy set up a NAS with regular HDDs on an old PC with TrueNAS and figured I'd do that. Searched online for old parts ... found ads for a used i5-6500/cpucooler/MSI Mini ITX board fo
