Which model synology are you running? The latest ARC will work if you choose SA6400 - but you have to select the custom kernel option. Generally, best stick to 7.2 until synology release the code to get 7.3 running properly.

Choose SA6400 since it's based on the most recent kernel. And IMHO it will be best to install it baremetal or in Proxmox or similar. Installing xpenology on Ugreen 2800 (questions)
Running the same SA6400 on a NUC8 with a USB DAS attached. Everything works as it should, including sharing external links on the internet, Plex, immich, synology drive.
