Is there a dash cam to fit all my needs?
If parking mode is your main priority, I’d honestly look at Thinkware first. A lot of cams really just save from the impact onward, but Thinkware’s radar parking mode can pick up motion before the actual hit, which is way more useful if you care about real evidence. And since you said you want more

Dash cam suggestions
I actually just picked up a Thinkware ARC 900 with the LTE module, and remote access was a big reason why. I live in the city and street park, so being able to check in remotely mattered a lot to me too. Might be worth seriously looking at if that’s one of your main priorities.

Dashcam recommendations?
I’d check out Thinkware too. I grabbed an ARC 900 not that long ago and have been really liking it. Just feels solid and easy to live with.

Ended up putting a Thinkware ARC 900 in my wife’s car too
Love this writeup. I've been in the market for a dashcam and finally decided on THINKWARE. This is super helpful to hear from someone running both U3000 Pro and ARC 900 in the same household. I really like the way you framed the difference between your priorities and your wife’s too. For a lot of pe

Advice for front rear dashcam, low power, use mostly in parking mode
Take a look at the Thinkware ARC 900. I bought one recently mainly because of the radar parking mode. I don’t drive that much, so low power draw mattered a lot to me, and that was a big reason I went with it. If parking mode is your main priority, it’s definitely one you’d put on the list.

The ARC 900 from THINKWARE has so many good reviews. As soon as I get paid, this is the model I'm getting and making Best Buy install it for me.

Parking mode
I use both a Thinkware U3000 Pro and ARC 900, and I bought both mainly for parking mode. They do have motion based parking features, but I would not expect them to monitor 20 to 30 meters out the way you want. For that, you’re probably getting into actual surveillance camera territory. But if you wa

VIOFO A229 Ultra 4K+4K vs Thinkware Arc 900
I’m using both a U3000 Pro and ARC 900, and I’d go Thinkware. Biggest reason for me is product reliability. Compared to Viofo, it just feels like something I trust more.

Dash cams with NO DRIVER FACING CAM and can also track mileage across state lines?
I’d probably give Thinkware a look. I’m using an ARC 900 myself, and one thing I do like is that you still get useful GPS based stuff like route, distance, and driving history without needing a driver-facing cam. Only part you’d need to verify first is the mileage by state thing, since I’m not sure

Dash cam recommendations
I’m on a Thinkware ARC 900 and it hasn’t messed with Android Auto for me at all. That was something I was worried about too. Parking mode has been great though, so I’d definitely put it on your list.
