So true. First one I got was in 2016, a Garmin NuviCam LMTHD. I balked at it initially as it was $520. I use Viofo a329s hardwired. Works great. I did not have the preparation and I took it to a garage that did it for 100 bucks. Took an hour.

Follow up: ordered from VIOFO A329S 4K 3 Channel Dash Cam and decided it was the most complete setup for both driving and parking coverage. Hoping the installation is straightforward and it runs reliably day to day.
