Dash Cam
Would encourage a Viofo. The A329 is their flagship series; I'd get the A329T 3CH if you want the best they have to offer. 4K Front, 2K rear, and a 2K telephoto (details at long distance). The A229 2CH is a decent budget alternative as well—you can get either 4K/4K or 4K/2K out of the Ultra or Pro s

Best for reading license plates
Viofo A329T has a secondary front telephoto that reviews have noted does a good job picking up license plates https://www.viofo.com/products/viofo-a329t-3ch-4k-front-2k-telephoto-camera-2k-rear-camera-sony-starvis-2-sensor

26 Rav4 LE dash cam
It is not as good as a dedicated dashcam set. The front cam is too low, 1080p resolution and too wide angle to capture any license plate. Also since it is outside, it is subjected to dirt and debris. I only use it as a supplement to my Viofo A329T 3CH set-up.

The Dashcam trap..
I only trust Viofo dash cams for image quality and durability. Had A119 V1 for several years never a single issue and still works fine. Upgraded to A119 Mini 2, ran that for a year, then upgraded again to the A329T 3ch model with ssd attached.
