Vortex Pok3r | Not bad for 9 years of daily use
r/mechanicalkeyboards was basically the custom Pok3r sub for a long time. I bought a used Pok3r a couple years ago for $30 and have it as a back-up. Still solid devices. The most noticeable difference is how much we were going for the bezel free look then.

Professors gave me a nice keyboard. Cleaning people stole it.
Kits were definitely starting to become more popular around 2019, but hotswap had barely started to become the standard. I remember the DZ65RGB and Tofu65 combo getting some decent traction. I already didn't see people talking about or recommending the Pok3r much when I got into the hobby in 2017 th

The board that began the hobbyist in all of us..
This post makes me feel old - I remember back when the Vortex Pok3r was a huge deal, and when RAMA was still seen as one of the best vendors in the hobby.

I used a Pok3r for a couple years, then gave it to a coworker. Great board. Was relatively inexpensive too, IIRC.

(e.g pok3r) Holy shit I still remember my Vortex Pok3r that I ordered with Cherry MX Blue and came with Cherry MX Black (retooled) and basically kickstarted my keyboard hobby (because the Amazon rainbow keycaps were super tight so the G came out with the switch so I had to repair it, and that did it

Love me some muted tones
Honestly its been great! I have been using Vortex keyboards for years. Pok3r and TAB lines specifically. The build process was fun with lots of different configuration options with the 5 foams, different gasket configurations, etc. Big fan so far.

I've been using my pok3r with Cherry browns for nearly a decade now. Still works great, but have always been a bit annoyed by it's lack of software configurability. I'd also like better switches. Tried I think Cherry clears at the time but I remember them feeling too heavy, though I don't know if I'

Oh man this takes me back. I had a Pok3r with an aluminum case that I dailied for a good 5-6 years. Thing was bullet proof. It was my first mech, and also my first “Oh my God I hate Reds” experience.
